Cassa Jackson’s recent single ‘The Guy I Never Dated’ has proven to be one of her most successful singles to date, earning two Radio 1 Future Pop plays from Mollie King; a TikTok Artists of the Week feature alongside the likes of Henry Moodie and Romy; plus continued ongoing support from Wonderland, Daily Star, Metro and Women In Pop.
Fortunately the unrequited love and heartache in ‘The Guy I Never Dated’, doesn’t last forever and Cassa’s brand new EP‘Summer With U’ finds her in a much happier place. Its three songs celebrate the rush of a new romance, with Cassa’supbeat lyrics matched by uplifting pop which perfectly fits the seemingly never-ending summer evenings. Listen HERE.
Cassa says, “If you have been following me for a while you’ll know that up until now i’ve had a less than perfect love life and so ended up writing a lot of sassy breakup songs! But now I’m releasing three upbeat songs to be the soundtrack of your summer. This marks a change of era in my music, these are fun happy songs about the start of a relationship when sparks are flying after meeting someone new.”
The title track ‘Summer With U’ immediately establishes the EP’s joyous mood, with Cassa sounding reborn and holding nothing back as she sings, “I love it when you’re with me, romance like the ‘50s.” The other two songs both see Cassa, who holds a first class honours degree in French and Spanish, delivering half of the lyrics in Spanish. ‘Tranquilo’ is a departure from anything she has released before, its shimmering Latin pop vibes full of sun-kissed bliss, and she keeps the fun factor at fever pitch with the seductive strut of ‘Naked’.
While the ‘Summer With U’ EP works its magic, Cassa is currently preparing to play a London headline show at The Graceon August 31st – tickets are available HERE. The show features two special guests: Chloe Ann and Cassa’s regular collaborator Nath Brooks. She is no stranger to the biggest of stages, having played arena tours as guest to JLS and Blue, as well as shows with The Jacksons and festivals including Latitude and Oceanfest.
Whether Cassa is writing songs of love or heartache, her songs are full of stories and emotions that a growing following can easily relate to.
