| Sometimes the best way to move forward is to step back: to reflect on who you are, where you’ve come from, and where you’d like to go next. That spirit is very much a part of Lissie’s current retrospective campaign, which will see her release an ‘Anniversary Edition’ of her breakthrough debut album ‘Catching A TIger’ on June 25th, followed by a collection of highlights from her formative songbook with ‘Watch Over Me (Early Works 2002-2009)’ on July 23rd. The campaign is also inspiring others to revisit Lissie’s talents, earning new attention from The Line of Best Fit, tmrw, Noctis, Off The Recordand more. Lissie today continues her voyage of rediscovery by sharing the previously unreleased song ‘All Be Okay’. Originally written in 2007, the song features on the ‘Watch Over Me’ album. LISTEN HERE. “‘All Be Okay’ is such a delightful song,” says Lissie. “About two years into my time in LA, I found myself in a very warm and welcoming community of musicians. We had our Beachwood Rockers crew and our weekly residency at Crane’s Hollywood Tavern. I was playing with a band for the first time! That being said, there was still some fear that went along with trying to make it in the big city, such as power struggles and hurt feelings. There was levity in just believing that everything would work out in the end!” With a loose, live feel, the song’s blend of country-rock and ‘60s tinged pop is a suitably warm-hearted accompaniment for the purity of its message. And for a lyric which expressed the hope and defiance of an aspirational young artist, it again feels timely today – a shot of positivity to help counteract these challenging times.
