LeoStayTrill – the UK’s most exciting emerging rapper and producer – returns with infectious single “2s N 3s”, featuring a never-before-cleared sample of Clean Bandit’s Grammy Award Winning track ‘Rather Be’. “2s N 3s” displays a skillful flow and his signature creative flair while never sacrificing lyricism. By taking an undeniably iconic beat and working on the track with Clean Bandit, Leo has preserved what made the track resonate when it was released in 2014, providing a new perspective for his listeners. Leo says of the track:“This single came about with the idea of bringing back a classic evergreen in a modernised way. My whole idea was to exercise my creativity without doing anything that feels like an injustice to the song.”
This year, Clean Bandit returned to music with the release of “Cry Baby” with Anne-Marie and David Guetta. The track has sat stoically in the UK singles charts for 13 weeks straight, with Clean Bandit’s self-directed and produced music video showcasing their signature visual and musical prowess once again (watch here). The 8x Brit-nominated pop trio and Anne-Marie performed “Cry Baby” live on the launch show of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing – watch here – and the song has now wracked up over 50m streams.
“Cry Baby” marked the second collaboration between Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie, following their internationally adored track “Rockabye” with Sean Paul. The self-directed music video for “Rockabye” is about to hit three billion views on YouTube, and the song is one of the four Clean Bandit tracks to hit over a billion Spotify streams, placing them in Spotify’s Billions Club four times, with sampled track “Rather Be” being one of them. The only other UK bands to reach this milestone are Queen, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, and One Direction.
“2s N 3s” follows the Kerchak featuring “Jimi Hendrix” which was accompanied by an Olympic Paris filmed visual. Earlier this month, Leo took the stage for his first ever sold-out headline show at The Camden Assembly, where he wowed fans and brought out ArrDee and Tion Wayne. With over 1.1M followers across Instagram and Tik Tok, and an Asake O2 Arena support slot under his belt, Leo’s proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
It’s been an exciting last twelve months for the Bromley born rapper. ‘Honeybun’, his second ever single released at the end of 2023, has accumulated an impressive 4M+ streams to date. It’s self-assured and winking in its wordplay and refreshing in its syncopated, metallic production. In the course of two minutes, Leo seamlessly flies through an entire catalogue of flows. ‘Pink Lemonade’ was the unsuspecting freestyle that became his most inescapably viral hit yet, dominating social media for the entire summer and leapfrogging him into a truly global breakthrough.
Boasting millions of monthly listeners on Spotify, 2M+ Tik Tok video creations, 35M likes on TikTok and over 60M streams on Spotify alone, in only a year, Leo has crashed onto the scene in a spectacular fashion. In September, Leo shared a plethora of new work: “Cardi” with rising star 163Margs, “Demure” with Brighton rap Titan ArrDee and freestyle ‘Lost in Sardinia” – Leo is proving that one of his greatest strengths is his work ethic.
