A1 are back with a brand new single and Ben Adams speaks to Music Promotions.

Out this friday, A1 release their new single ‘Spiders’ this Friday, they are currently on the ‘Boys Are Back tour’ and embark on their own tour in October, tickets are own sale now. Ben took time to speak to Music Promotions about the new single, Album plans, touring and being back on the road again. Full interview below.

How does it feel to be back on performing all together again on the boyband tour?

Amazing! Covid was a crazy time for everyone but particularly for entertainment so thank goodness we can start where we left off-the audiences have been wild!

Your new single ‘Spiders’ in out Friday, what is the story behind it? Was this written during lockdown?

We wrote it during the last leg of the tour we are on now in the car whilst driving to the next venue and recorded it in several dressing rooms as I brought my portable studio with me. It’s a story of creating a web of lies that catches up on you……

Do you have a release date for the album?

We will be releasing several singles over the coming months and it will eventually be collated into an album once all have been released.

How different is the new album from your previous ones?

It’s what A1 would sound like in 2021. Just great solid pop music that is modernised from what we have previously done, but hasn’t lost tge sound we are famous for

Besides the next A1 album do you already have songs written for the one after that?

We concentrate on one album at a time. The songs that don’t make it to this album will probably end up on other artists albums, as we write and produce for many around the world. When it comes to the next album I imagine we will start fresh.

Favourite tracks from the new album?

Call me when you land is a special one. Particularly after a pandemic. Split up is also a firm favourite.

‘The A game’ tour starts in October, will you be performing anything from the new album?

Yes we will be performing new songs but of course all the hits too.

Will you be extending the dates for the A game tour or announcing a new tour next year?

We will continue touring until we are too old to do it. So whether it is an extension of the same tour or something new is hard to say right now. We have so many countries and cities to bring the new music to so it will take a while!

How much time do you have before to rehearse and decide the set list for the tour?

Myself and christian live in Norway so we catch up with the other guys and sort things like set lists over zoom etc. Then we just have to grab rehearsal time when we can make it work for everyone-we all have very busy different schedules outside of A1 so finishing time we are all available is actually the trickiest thing!

Final Messages?

Can’t wait to see everyone on the road and hope you enjoy the new music aswell as continuing to enjoy the old classics!
