After enjoying a phenomenal reaction to his breakthrough track ‘Haiti’ (9 million streams, huge radio and streaming support, and certified Gold in Ireland), Welshy’s follow-up ‘All For You’ is already shaping up to make an even bigger impact. It has achieved a huge reach across all platforms, including #1 placings on Future Dance Hits and New In Dance (Apple Music) plus New Dance Revolution and Hands in the Eire (Spotify). Meanwhile radio plays have included spins on Radio 1’s Party Anthems and from Rickie, Melvin and Charlie. And over at TikTok, videos made using the track have reached 1.5 millionviews in just two weeks. The momentum behind ‘All For You’ is set for a fresh boost as Welshy today shares the track’s official video. WATCH HERE. The video uses an ordinary setting as the basis for a fantastical tale. A young man is standing on a bus when a fleeting touch from a woman sparks his imagination as to their potential future together. Whether they’re running together on a beach, lounging in the summer sun, or recreating ‘Ghost’ it’s a vision as romantic and ideal as he could possibly hope for. There’s just one problem – everything else he touches also becomes part of his daydream. And that’s when things get really weird… Directed by Arthur Studholm, one-half of the online sketch show duo Uncle Shortbread, the video celebrates the unique position the world is in, rediscovering human connection and continues the light-hearted interpretations of Welshy’s music that began with the ‘Haiti’ video. Welshy commented, “I’m so happy to be able to share with you all the official music video for my latest single ‘All for You’. With the incredibly tough year we’ve all been through we thought it was very important to create a video that puts a smile on your face. Arthur and the whole team did a fantastic job creating such a fun and lighthearted piece that really complements the music I created. My favourite thing about this video is that it is kind of relatable. We have all gone over a year without any human contact and the way this video injects humour by displaying crazy visions after something as innocent as two hands accidentally touching after the year we’ve all experienced is quite timely. I hope this video puts as big a smile on your face as it did to mine when I first saw it.” A superstar DJ and producer in the making, Welshy’s profile has skyrocketed since signing to Insanity Records. The Irishman, real name Ross Walsh, had already established a reputation as a rising talent following early bootlegs and remixes, plus support from big names including BTS, Kygo and The Chainsmokers. That attention continued in the wake of the success of ‘Haiti’, with a remix courtesy of this year’s BRIT nominee Nathan Dawe. |
