Beans On Toast Music Promotions Interview

Beans On Toast musician spoke to Music Promotions about his new book, his festival this summer, more music and much more.

1. What was the idea behind your second book?
To put some more stories down on paper, when touring (and the world) stopped I had more time on my hands, so it seemed like a natural move. I enjoyed the process of the last book, it’s good to go out of your comfort zone, so I did it again. It’s like taking a journey into your own brain. Not always easy, but fun all the same.

2. How long did you spend planning and writing it?
I started writing in March 2020 and wrapped it up early Feb 2021 – so just under a year, the planning however was much longer because I was actually living out the stories – the opening chapter is set when I was 19 years old and the last chapter brings us to the present day, with me in my 40’s s- so over 20 years of preparation I guess.

3. Is it hard copy as well as audiobook?
Exactly that, both paperback and the audio book – which I read will be out on 10th August.

4. Can you tell everyone more about your summer festival?
It’s gonna be a day of music, trees and revelry held in Nottingham’s beautiful Arboretum. I’ve invited some of my favourite acts to come and play and there will be fantastic food, wildlife charities and good company. I’ll also be doing a book signing and those in attendance will be able to get a copy of the new book before its official release date!

5. How much goes into the planning of a festival?
Lots and lots, luckily for me I don’t really have to do it for this event. It’s promoted by Nottinghams finest promoters the DHP Family. They’re looking after all the complicated bits, I just get to the fun stuff, like choosing the music and entertainment.

6. Did you choose all of the live acts?
Yep, we’ve got Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Dizraeli, Danan Immanuel alongside some great homegrown talents like Keto and Benjamin Ziec

7. How does it feel to be focusing on live music again after the last year?
Like coming home.

8. Do you have new music coming?
Of course, a new album will be out on 1st December – as always.

9. What can your fans expect from your next music releases?
Too soon to say!

10. What is next for you?
I’m actually in the studio this week, laying down the album that it’s too early to talk about, what I can say tho is that it’s bloody exciting stuff!

11.Final messages?

Look out for one another.
