Mary Middlefield Releases Sophomore Album Will You Take Me As I Am?

MARY MIDDLEFIELD CHANNELS SELF-OWNERSHIP

AND VULNERABILITY ON NEW ALBUM

WILL YOU TAKE ME AS I AM?

LISTEN HERE

Today, indie-rock sensation Mary Middlefield releases her powerful second studio album Will You Take Me As I Am?, out now across all streaming platforms. A bold and deeply personal body of work, the album explores identity, self-ownership and the quiet, universal longing to be accepted without conditions. Listen HERE.

Marking a clear evolution in both sound and perspective, Will You Take Me As I Am? sees Mary step into a more assertive, rock-leaning live energy, without losing the emotional intimacy that has defined her work to date. The album balances driving basslines and bold arrangements with moments of striking vulnerability. Drawing on her classical training with violin subtly woven throughout, Mary sharpens her songwriting while embracing a newfound freedom, crafting a record that feels both cathartic and quietly defiant.

Speaking on the record, Mary says: “Will You Take Me As I Am is a record born from my constant need for validation and love. The kind that doesn’t come with instructions or conditions. It comes from always reaching outward to feel chosen, reassured, wanted, and from the quiet fear that without that reassurance, I might disappear. These songs live in the space between craving closeness and doubting whether I’m worthy of it, between wanting to be seen and worrying that what’s seen won’t be enough, or too ugly to deal with. I wrote this album while asking for love in a thousand different ways, sometimes gently, sometimes desperately, sometimes without realizing I was asking at all. At its core, this record is one long question: to an audience, to a lover, to a friend, and to myself: if I unveil everything… will you take me as I am?

Will You Take Me As I Am? follows a run of acclaimed releases including “Wake Up!”, alongside breakout singles “The Feast”, “Summer Affair,” “Will You Read My Mind” and “Bite Me”, earning playlist covers and radio support from BBC Radio 2BBC 6 MusicRadio XSiriusXM and more. The album marks the next chapter following Middlefield’s debut Thank You Alexander and her sophomore release Poetry (for the scorned and lonely).

Recorded between London and Switzerland, the album was co-written with Anna BorkenhagenArnaud PaoliniGwen BuordMarino Palma and Yvan Vindret. Alongside BourdMary enlisted co-producer Jim Abbiss with GRAMMY-winning engineer Randy Merrill (Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift) mastering the record.

Mary will perform live across the UK and Europe, kicking off in Lausanne, Switzerland on 26th March with UK shows in Portsmouth on 7th April and London on 8th April before continuing to Paris and a run of dates across Germanyconcluding in Hamburg on 14th AprilTickets are on sale now at marymiddlefield.com.
