THERA – ‘heartless romance’
18th September
Emerging Czech pop artist THERA enters a bold new chapter with the release of her highly anticipated new single ‘heartless romance’, arriving 18th September. Dark, seductive and charged with a new sense of confidence, the track marks a striking evolution in THERA’s sound. moving beyond the emotional pop of her earlier work into something edgier, more sensual and built for the dancefloor.
Driven by a hypnotic, gliding synth, punchy hip-hop-inspired beats and atmospheric keys, ‘heartless romance’ written in collaboration with renowned worldwide hit producer Jakke Erixson (David Guetta/Charlie XCX/Ava Max), and the first track of her highly anticipated sophomore album builds around an irresistible rhythmic pull before exploding into choruses that demand to be heard. THERA’s distinctive vocals sit at the centre of the production, balancing vulnerability with a newfound sense of control. The song explores the blurred lines between desire and commitment, the tension of being wanted intensely by someone who still refuses to truly choose you. It captures the intoxicating pull of a relationship that feels impossible to leave, even when you know the other person may only come looking for you when they are lonely.
With ‘heartless romance’, THERA is introducing a new sonic identity: darker, bolder and more unapologetically pop. While her previous releases have showcased her ability to turn personal emotion into intimate songwriting, this new chapter sees her pushing that emotion into a more energetic and physical space.
The single follows THERA’s live EP ‘everywhere, all at once’, a seven-track collection documenting the raw energy of her first arena tour. Recorded across different tour stops supporting Jason Derulo, the EP captured the unfiltered atmosphere of her live performances and celebrated a defining moment in THERA’s rapid rise. “The goal of this EP was to create an honest, living memory—not just for me, but for the fans who made those nights so special and for anyone who wants to experience the energy of my live shows from afar,” THERA explains.
The tracklist also features THERA’s rendition of Charli XCX’s hit ‘Break the Rules’, which quickly became a fan favourite and a major crowd-pleaser for newcomers during the tour, while also hinting at the bold new direction that would emerge with ‘heartless romance’.
