Global pop sensation SHAB continues her current release streak with a deeply personal and emotionally charged reimagining of her single ‘Skin & Bones’, remixed by her long-time renown producer Damon Sharpe. Set to release on the 7th of November, this remix transforms SHAB’s heartfelt and mournful original track into a powerful, dance floor-ready anthem while preserving the song’s intimate, soul-stirring core.
Written in the aftermath of a harrowing moment when SHAB exited the vocal booth of a Los Angeles studio session to be informed by legal authorities that her partner was hours earlier critically injured in a devastating highway car accident back in their hometown of Dallas, ‘Skin & Bones’ is a meditation on life’s fragility, the enduring strength of love and the transformative power of gratitude. From her opening words, SHAB recalls the traumatic incident, casting the song as both a meditation and a prayer with heartfelt expression born from fear, vulnerability and faith.
I heard your siren
Won’t you take me to the sound
And you can take my heart
Yet after years of successful physical rehabilitation of her partner, what began as a moment of trauma for SHAB has evolved the sentiment of ‘Skin & Bones’ into a celebration of love, resilience and emotional connection. The experience strengthened their bond, transforming the song into a symbol of gratitude for survival and unwavering commitment.
The Damon Sharpe remix elevates this emotional foundation, layering SHAB’s soaring vocals over shimmering synths, uplifting rhythms and driving beats. The result is a track that resonates both on the dance floor and in the heart, a cathartic and euphoric celebration of survival and connection that is simultaneously intimate and euphoric.
“‘Skin & Bones’ is a very personal production and song for me. I was there when everything that inspired it unfolded, so helping bring Shab and Rob’s story to life musically was an emotional journey. Shab and Rob are like family to me, and it was an honor to write this song alongside Shab. Capturing the raw emotion and sentiment in the production was a beautiful challenge — one that reminded me why I love what I do.” — Damon Sharpe
Grammy and ASCAP Award-winning producer, songwriter, DJ, executive, and artist, Damon Sharpe has been involved with the production of albums that have collectively surpassed 4 billion streams. His impressive credits span work with global icons including Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue, Loud Luxury, Pitbull, Alesso, Kelly Rowland, Flo Rida, and many more. His tracks have garnered support from leading DJs including Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, and Nicky Romero. In 2022, he launched his own label Brainjack Music alongside the Insomniac Radio Show of the same name, further cementing his status as a creative force in global dance music.
SHAB has always excelled at turning deeply personal experiences into universal anthems. Following her acclaimed sophomore album ‘ONE SUITCASE’, a compilation of recollections marking her flight from Iranian fundamentalism and remaking herself in the West, marking her journey from refugee to international pop sensation. And following the ‘Say It With Your Chest (Dave Audé Remix)’ earlier this fall, which transformed SHAB’s empowering anthem into a festival-ready hit, ‘Skin & Bones (Damon Sharpe Remix)’ continues her momentum, capturing the raw essence of being stripped to one’s most human form — reminding us that when everything else falls away, love is what remains.
The past year has marked a new high point for SHAB, solidifying her status as one of pop’s most inspiring global voices. The year started with the February 2025 release of her album ‘ONE SUITCASE’, which was supported by an extensive radio & television promotional tour across America and has resonated globally. SHAB also marked a milestone with her first U.S. Pop Top 40 hit, the sassy ‘80s-inspired fan favourite ‘Lipstick’. And with recent singles ‘Dance ’Til You’re Free’, ‘Afterglow’, and ‘Dirty’ igniting the charts, SHAB launches into 2026 with unstoppable energy and poised for yet another defining year in her meteoric rise.
A refugee from fundamentalist Iran, SHAB during late 2024 proudly announced her new role as an ambassador for Choose Love, a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting displaced persons worldwide. Her personal history aligns perfectly with the organisation’s mission, making her a compelling and authentic voice for the cause. In a powerful show of solidarity with refugees globally, SHAB has pledged all profits from sales of the ‘ONE SUITCASE’ album to Choose Love. Through her advocacy for female empowerment and the women of Iran, she hopes to raise awareness for Choose Love alongside high-profile supporters such as Oprah, Benedict Cumberbatch, Julia Roberts, Gemma Chan, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, James Corden, Dermot O’Leary, and Olivia Colman, among many others.
Over the past four years, SHAB has cemented her status as a formidable force in pop, with her collaboration with legendary hip-hop artist Fat Joe on the hit single ‘VOODOO’ becoming a sensation, breaking into the Top 40 on both the Rhythmic and Pop Music charts. The track, a brilliant fusion of SHAB’s debut single ‘SPELL ON ME’ and Fat Joe’s iconic ‘LEAN BACK’, became the most Shazamed song on Apple Music in the weeks following its release.
These remarkable achievements, combined with 29 million YouTube views, 16 million Spotify streams and a rapidly growing global fanbase, are a testament to her talent and ability to create consistent chart-topping hits. She has received extensive media coverage, with features in the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Hot Press, Wonderland, Big Issue, and METAL Magazine, as well as cover stories in FHM and Marie Claire.
SHAB has also dazzled on the performance stage, having concluded during October 2025 a cross-country U.S. tour with The Wanted as well as four separate international tours over 2022-23, including as the opening act for JLS on an 18-date arena tour across Ireland & Britain (and with two acclaimed sold-out shows at The O2 in London).
