DEBUT ALBUM ‘SCARS, GHOSTS & GLORY’ IS OUT NOW – LISTEN HERE
FEATURING THE FOCUS TRACK ‘STARDUST’ – LISTENHERE
With collaborations including Lost Frequencies (‘Sun Is Shining’) and Fedde Le Grand (‘Devils’), Vince Freeman has achieved five European Top 10 chart hits. But Vince particularly excels with his solo work, a place in which his versatile rock, soul, country and blues vocals lead soul-baring songs that expose the often-remarkable stories behind his life so far. Now Vince shares the most compelling project of his career to date with today’s release of his long-awaited debut album ‘Scars,Ghosts & Glory’. Listen HERE.
The record is the result of years of hard work and struggles, along with the inspiration that comes when you realise your dedication is finally starting to pay off. It’s a remarkable story that has taken Vince from an aspiring musician who made a living as a barista, taking his coffee van to festivals while dreaming of hitting their big stages, to playing shows with the likes of Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and Paul Weller.
Early in his career he won two UK Indie Awards before reaching the final of ‘The Voice’ in 2012, during which he was mentored by Danny O’Donoghue of The Script. But just as he was breaking through, a nagging backache escalated into something much more serious, leading to six years of debilitating pain due to a spinal injury. Even when he eventually recovered, fate wasn’t on his side – as soon as his Lost Frequencies collab took off, the world locked down due to Covid. Now, however, it’s finally Vince’s time to shine.
Vince explais, “I think in places the songs are brutally honest. That can be uncomfortable, like looking at your soul in the mirror. I’m ok with my scars and ghosts these days and it feels amazing to share my story to whoever might want to listen.”
Vince has previewed the album with a host of singles, including sharing an emotional story of childhood struggles set to Sam Fender / Bruce Springsteen style rock on ‘Oh What A Life’ and ‘Passing By’, a ballad which observes other people living their life while yours simply drifts away. But for all of the hefty themes he explores, the new single ‘Stardust’ is a song of unrestrained joy – a celebration of a love that lasts and changes everything. Listen HERE.
In addition to its digital release, ‘Scars, Ghosts & Glory’ is available from Vince’s official store on CD, white vinyl and gold vinyl. All physical formats are signed. Having previously provided a taste of his powerful live performances with a video for ‘Won’t Remember Heaven’, Vince Freeman has been winning over audiences with his current tour as special guest to Scouting For Girls.
