Busted continue their 20th anniversary celebrations by teaming up with the two-time Kerrang! Award winning pop-punkers Neck Deep to record a new version of their fan favourite ‘Meet You There’. The collaboration is their second in a series of 2.0 updates after they recently reworked ‘Loser Kid’ with Simple Plan. Both songs and a host of other yet to be unveiled collaborations will be collated in an upcoming reworked greatest hits album later this year. ‘Meet You There 2.0’ is a massive departure from the original, with its reflective acoustic pop now given a sugar rush of buzzsaw melody and high-octane pop-punk. Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow proves to be the perfect voice to top the Busted boys’ backing harmonies, as the song takes on the rattling rhymes, super infectious hooks and nostalgic leanings that recall the melodic side of classic punk labels such as Epitaph and Fat Wreck. The original version of ‘Meet You There’ featured on Busted’s #2 triple-Platinum second album ‘A Present For Everyone’. Aside from the album’s smash hit singles, ‘Meet You There’ is one of the record’s most streamed tracks. Its fan favourite status was extended when Busted shared an Abbey Road session performance of the song to mark their reunion in 2015, and it has also been a regular song in the band’s countless arena shows. Busted’s Charlie Simpson says, “This is one of the tracks we are most excited about releasing, as we have recorded an entirely new arrangement of the song. The original was an acoustic ballad and this new version is a balls out, rock explosion! We are also so happy to have done this with Neck Deep. Ben sounds awesome on it and what is extra special is he told me this was one of his fave Busted songs when he was growing up.” Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow adds, “We’re stoked to feature on Meet You There! It’s kind of a full circle moment for myself and Seb especially. When we were like 8 and 10 years old my big sister took us to see Busted in Manchester arena, and that was the first show we ever went to. Fast forward 20 years and I’m featuring on my favourite song of theirs! Wild. The re-work of the song is really cool too, and we had a blast making it. Busted have been really cool the whole way and I’m stoked to re-live the experience that 8 year old me had back then!” Busted’s upcoming 20th anniversary and Greatest Hits tour has proved to be hugely popular, with phenomenal public demand leading to multiple added shows. Fans wanting to attend are now in the last chance saloon, as more than half the dates are now sold-out and every other show has very limited tickets remaining HERE. Hanson are special guests at all shows from September 9th, while New Hope Club and The Tyne will join the bill throughout the entire tour. Neck Deep’s 2014 debut album ‘Wishful Thinking’ immediately marked them as a leading light on the UK pop-punk scene, resulting in their first Kerrang! Award for Best Newcomer. Their subsequent three albums – ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’, ‘The Peace and the Panic’ and ‘All Distortions Are International’ – all went Top 10 on the UK’s Official Album Chart and Billboard’s Top Rock Albums. Their recent single ‘Heartbreak of the Century’ was highlighted as Tune of the Week on Daniel P Carter’s Radio 1 Rock Show, while their summer festivals include a main stage set at Download and a headline show at the So What?! Music Festival in Texas.
