‘Wake ‘N’ Shake’ is a new collaboration from two essential artists with a gift for infusing dance music with a broadly appealing pop edge: the chart-topping, BRIT Award nominated, Platinum-certified 220 KID; and next wave talents AR/CO, who have hit over 3 million streams with their track ‘Night Feels’ and made their name with a succession of collabs with Franky Wah (the Radio 1 A-listed ‘Under The Sun’), Don Diablo (‘Hot Air Balloon’), The Stickmen Project (‘Tears In Ibiza’) and Sub Focus (‘Vibration (One More Time)’). With ‘Wake ‘N’ Shake’, 220 KID and AR/CO have created a supercharged anthem to kickstart your day in the brightest possible way. Swirling together an exuberant cocktail of energising house vibes, euphoric drops, and alluring vocal harmonies from AR/CO duo Mali-Koa and Leo Stannard, ‘Wake ‘N’ Shake’ provides the perfect soundtrack to get an all-day party started from sunrise. The song was written by 220 KID and AR/CO with Toby Scott (Ella Henderson, Felik Jaehn), and was produced by 220 KID and Toby Scott.

220 KID says, “We wrote ‘Wake ‘N’ Shake’ at the end of a great session together with Toby Scott. We wanted to make something fun and when the bassline came about we knew we had to throw some lyrics on it that provide an escape from the stress of everyday life. We wanted to capture how you would feel waking up and just getting straight into the mood of having fun. Just shake off all the stress and sadness in the world and go enjoy yourself. Life is for laughter and friends, loving and dancing – this is what we’ve tried to bring to the listener.”

220 KID first came to prominence in 2020 when ‘Don’t Need Love’, his collaboration with GRACEY, flew into the Top 10, exceeded 100 million streams, and was nominated for Best British Single at the BRITs. It wasn’t long before he achieved an even bigger moment, when he teamed with Billen Ted for a remix of Nathan Evans’ ‘Wellerman’ which spent two weeks at#1 during a 14-week run in the Top 10, amassed 500 million+ streams, and was again BRIT Award nominated, this time for Song of the Year. 220 KID’s other collaborations or remixes include with artists such as Doja Cat, Anne-Marie, Tiёsto, LANY, MK, Sam Fischer and Jake Bugg.

Previously songwriters with artists such as Camelphat, G-Eazy and KC Lights, Leo Stannard and Mali-Koa formed AR/COto soundtrack togetherness, unity and good times. Their music feels like a collision course between MGMT and Daft Punk at a futuristic desert rave, something which has made them in-demand collaborators for some of the scene’s biggest names. Their own tracks – ‘Call Me By My Name’, ‘Night Feels’ and ‘Supersonic L.U.V’ – are making a similar impact, with high profile airplay from Sir Elton John, Gemma Bradley, Mistajam and Maia Beth.
