American pop singer/songwriter AZSH shares her infectious new track, ‘Mood’, out now on all streaming platforms.
Naming Alicia keys, Sade, Stevie Nicks and Queen as her biggest inspirations, AZSH draws from her combined influences, totally owning her own brand of feel-good, glittering alt-pop. Recorded with multi-Latin Grammy nominated producer Luis “The Dro1dz” Salazar, the track’s slick production and infectious chorus will have listeners singing along from the very first listen.
The song explores the notion of going into airplane mode and getting together, exploring what’s good and going a little deeper into the possibilities of a love interest. Speaking of the track, AZSH says, “Having had the opportunity during the pandemic to disconnect and shift gears definitely inspired this song. When writing the hook, I imagined the back and forth process we often have in the studio. It’s like a collaboration that accelerates and gets better as it goes. I guess that’s how a good relationship goes too, and since I’ve found myself in my first happy/healthy relationship in 2020, I was happy to incorporate those feelings into this song.”
Originally from Kentuckiana (a mesh of Indiana and Kentucky), AZSH grew up surrounded by music. Both her parents are musicians, and from a very young age she would sing in choirs and at church. AZSH’s first writing/recording session was in 2007 when she filled in for Nicole Scherzinger who didn’t show up to a session. She says, “I volunteered myself for the job and probably was reluctantly accepted as a plan B, but after I wrote and recorded a full song with harmonies in less than an hour, everyone in the studio was blown away and couldn’t believe it was my first time doing such a thing.” From that day, AZSH has been hooked on making music.
Now calling Miami home for the last 8 years, AZSH creates music that represents and incorporates Miami vibes and its incredible International melting pot of cultures. “The energy is upbeat and sunny! I want my music to feel the same!”, she says. ‘Mood’ has been likened to acts such as Miami Sound Machine and Jennifer Lopez, and has received local and International radio play on Pop and Adult Contemporary stations, and has been added to several Pop Music 2022 and International Pop Music playlists on Spotify.
‘Mood’ is the first of a string of singles to be released this year, with a full EP set for release in 2022.
