During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, James was returning home to Los Angeles when he became stranded in the Caribbean due to travel restrictions. Bored and alone in his room at a deserted, picture-postcard resort, James wrote a collection of songs which became his ‘lockdown’ album. Entitled Sugar Beach, and with hints of R&B and soul, the songs playfully capture the juxtaposition of being marooned in paradise without anyone to share it with.
The Sugar Beach tour will be James’ first solo UK shows, and the setlist will be made up from his debut album Everyone Is My Friend and the upcoming Sugar Beach record.
