8th October 2021, London, UK – Mercury Music Prize and GRAMMY® Award winning UK singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer James Blake releases his highly anticipated new album, Friends That Break Your Heart, via Polydor in the UK and Republic in the US.

Of the album, James says, “This album is my favorite so far. I know that’s what you’d expect me to say because I made it, and all artists think their new album is their best album… But it actually is, so…”

Tonight, Blake continues the US leg of his Friends That Break Your Heart Tour playing to a packed house at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, followed by a stop at New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall on 9th October, before wrapping up in Atlanta’s Tabernacle on 15th October.

The UK and Europe leg of James’ Friends That Break Your Heart Tour will kick off on 30th April in Glasgow at the O2 Academy and wrap with a final show at London’s Alexandra Palace on 17th May. Tickets are on sale now and available to purchase at JamesBlakeMusic.com. James also plays 2 intimate solo piano shows for Banquet Records on 28th April.

Friends That Break Your Heart follows the Covers EP – a collection of Blake’s favourite covers, including his cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” (which generated over 5 million views on TikTok) -and his 2019 released, GRAMMY® nominated album Assume Form which was his highest charting album in both the UK and US to date. More recently James worked with Dave on his no. 1 second studio album We’re All Alone In This Together and featured on Slowthai’s chart topping album TYRON.

James Blake’s first new full-length album in two years, Friends That Break Your Heart, features collaborations from JID & SwaVay, Monica Martin and SZA. James worked closely with British artist Miles Johnston to design a cover reflective of the album. The result is a visual encapsulation of the emotions brought forth throughout the body of work.
