Friday 16th July, London, UK – Singer, songwriter and musician, Lola Lennox releases brand new single “Love Like That with accompanying music video today.

“Love Like That” is produced by Braeden Wright and co-produced by Annie Lennox.  It follows Lola’s critically acclaimed singles Wherever You Go (which was the most played record on Radio 2 earlier this year), “Back At Wrong” (which received high rotation on Radio 2 after it was added to their A playlist), and “La La Love Me” (which entered the Top 10 of the UK Radio Airplay Charts).

“Love Like That” – written by Lola Lennox alongside Mischa Mandal and Steve Rusch – is a playful, percussive-led Summer banger-in-the-making brimming with upbeat intention. Inspired by Lola’s own experience it expresses the highlights of finding something or someone in life that just feels “right” and encourages us to let our guard down and find self-acceptance.

“When I make music, I hope to create something authentically me, something that captures the essence of a feeling or story from my life.” Says Lola “For me, making music is my quest toward being myself, and finding that through the subtle art of melody, lyrics and production. By embracing who we are, we are then able to live in the moment, to let go of our inhibitions, and feel 100% confident in our own skin. ‘Love Like That’ doesn’t only have to mean romantic love, it’s also an expression for having passion toward life, chasing the things that light us up and just being our own unique selves. Expressing a sense of joyous and spontaneous freedom, it makes you want to kick back and drink a cocktail in the sunshine…”

The accompanying music video for Lola’s “Love Like That” is directed by Emmy-nominated and award winning South African director Natalie Johns (Sam Smith, Annie Lennox, Theophilus London), who also directed the music video for Lola’s “Wherever You Go”. Nodding to the fact that, like most of us, Lola has been stuck inside a lot this past year, the video follows her hit the road in a box truck. Determined to kickstart everyone’s weekend on the right note, she makes her way from Hollywood Boulevard and the walk of fame to Downtown LA, stopping along the way to treat passers-by to an impromptu live performance accompanied by dancers and a booming soundsystem.

“I’ve missed playing live so much this past year, so for the ‘Love Like That’ music video I dreamed up a way of performing that had a unique twist; I decided to hire a van and create a moving art installation within it, I asked my dancer friends to join, and we drove around Los Angeles performing ‘Love Like That’ on the streets. I wanted the video to capture the natural magic of live performance.  We didn’t follow a clear-cut narrative – we knew the special moments would emerge simply by having fun and feeling the music. Making the ‘Love Like That’ music video was both exciting and meaningful – getting lost in the music while seeing people smile, made the long wait worth it!” – Says Lola.

Earmarked as an artist to watch by everyone from The Sunday TimesMusic Week and NME to Vogue ItaliaWonderland Magazine and Numero, Lola Lennox is gearing up to release her debut long player project. It will feature “Love Like That”, “La La Love Me”, “Back At Wrong” and “Wherever You Go”alongside brand new tracks recorded in sessions with the likes of Jon Green (Kylie Minogue, James Bay, Paloma Faith), Carl Ryden (David Guetta, Alexandra Burke) and Dan Muckala (Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes).

Music has been in Lola’s blood from as long as she can remember. She has played the piano and sung from seven years old, written songs from the age of fifteen, and earned a place at the Royal Academy of Music. 2020 saw Lola duet with her mother, Annie Lennox, for their much talked about performance  of “There Must Be An Angel” for Global Citizen One World: Together At Home to an audience of over 270 million viewers. While in 2019 she collaborated with Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory on the soundtrack for the “Serengeti” docu-series, which was narrated by Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and aired in over 35 countries around the world (including the UK on BBC and the U.S. on Discover Network).
