PRE-ORDER NEPTUNE’S DAUGHTER

Glaswegian singer-songwriter Kerri Watt, plus special guests Will Irvine (of Daytime TV, formerly Hunter And The Bear), and Gregor Philp (of Deacon Blue), are to stream a special Christmas concert from Glasgow venue Oran Mor on December 17th at 7pm. The concert will be free to watch on YouTube, with a donation drive benefitting the Music Venue Trust. A stream link will soon be available to pre-access via the Facebook event pageor through Kerri’s YouTube channel.

The show will take on a Nashville style songwriters ‘round’ format. Expect an evening of songs you know (including tunes from Kerri’s January 2021 album ‘Neptune’s Daughter’), original music, collaborations, covers and lots of Scottish banter.

Asking her fanbase to name something they thought was a positive to come from 2020, Kerri got an overwhelming response saying ‘live stream performances’. Discovering new artists, easy access to entertainment, and being able to support the arts were all high on peoples priorities, inspiring Kerri to put on this ‘Scottish Songwriters In The Round’ concert, with a Christmas twist. Kerri commented that she, “wanted to make it special and stand out from the living room streams I’ve been doing all year. Picking the location was a no brainer – Oran Mor is an absolutely stunning Glasgow venue (especially at Christmas), and when they offered me the Gallery for filming, I was so excited. Throw in two of my favourite Scottish writers, and we’re bound to have a great show!”

After being involved with a few Music Venue Trust events, including the ‘Save Our Scottish Venues’ stream back in June, Kerri has chosen to drive donations towards the organisation. Kerri recognised their role in preserving the UK live music scene, saying “while many of us musicians have loved the intimacy of live streams, we are all dying to get back on a real stage, and supporting grassroots venues across the country is a vitally important part of that. I’m so impressed by the Music Venue Trust’s passion and dedication. Very few artists would be where we are today if it wasn’t for the support these venues have given us over the years.”
