The performance caps off a huge summer for Sophie, who has supported Duran Duran at BST Hyde Park and Grace Jones, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Soul II Soul at Crystal Palace Bowl, with a performance at Manchester Pride Festival still to come.
A classically trained pianist mentored by Patrice Rushen (“Forget Me Nots”), Sophie writes, produces and performs all of her own material, combining her self-produced “Retro Electro” sound with a distinctive visual style. She previously duetted “Video Killed the Radio Star” on stage with Buggles co-founder and legendary producer Trevor Horn, with the Daily Mirror praising how it “blended the upcoming star’s ‘Retro Electro’ sound with the song’s timeless new-wave spirit.” Watch here.
