Friday 7 August, London, UK – Today, acclaimed singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding unveils the official music video for her brand-new single “Ravers”, taken from her highly anticipated sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, released on 4 September via Polydor Records.

Following the caustic “Black Prada Dress” and the intimate “4 Seasons”, “Ravers” marks a euphoric high point on I Know Too Much and Ellie Goulding’s first-ever solo electronic singleSpeaking to Zane Lowe following the track’s premiere on Apple Music earlier this week, Goulding said: “It took me back to a very safe and beautiful place when I was a kid. I grew up listening to electronic music, and it did give me this sense of freedom back… I decided to release it a couple of weeks ago because this is the song that I feel is closest to me right now – my happy place.”

Directed by cinematographer and filmmaker Sean Price Williams (Addison RaeSabrina Carpenter), the accompanying music video for “Ravers” was shot in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighbourhood and finds Goulding immersed in a sweat-soaked night on the dancefloor, capturing the euphoric energy at the heart of the track.

“Ravers” feels like a full-circle moment for an artist who has soundtracked some of the defining dance records for the past decade through collaborations with Calvin HarrisFour Tet,Skrillex and more. Here, however, Goulding steps into the electronic spotlight alone, delivering an ode to the dancefloor that pairs primal, pulse-racing production with one of her most commanding vocal performances to date.

Produced by Dave Hamelin (AuroraBeyoncéJADE) alongside I Know Too Much executive producer Jack Rochon, “Ravers” offers another glimpse into an album Goulding and Rochon spent the past couple of years crafting together after first connecting on TikTok.

“The album came from the idea that maybe we can know too much. There is a certain kind of freedom in the ease of not knowing,” says Goulding of I Know Too Much. “This album is a collection of songs that represent a crossroads in my life where I realized what the freedom of not knowing has gifted me in the past, yet a time when I am at the precipice of understanding the true power in knowing. Through the chaos of this great change, I went to my comfort zone and found my refuge in the studio. My initial instinct was I didn’t know where it was all going, but I just knew I needed to be in the studio. Writing a song has always been my best form of therapy.”

Throughout I Know Too Much, Goulding balances emotional honesty with fearless musical ambition, reconnecting with the songwriting instincts that first set her on the path to becoming one of the most successful artists of the 21st century.

That enduring ability to evolve has helped make Goulding one of the most successful artists of the 21st century. Over the past 17 years, she has amassed over 55 billion streams globally and sold more than 44 million albums. Among the top five most-streamed British female artists in the world, alongside Adele, she holds the UK record for the most No.1 albums by a British female artist, as well as the record for the most UK Singles Chart entries for any British female solo artist in history.

Ellie’s work continues to reach and inspire new fans. Last month, she performed during England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway and lent her unmistakable vocals to Muse’s new single “Hush”, the thrilling highlight of the trio’s latest album The Wow! Signal, a record widely heralded as the band’s best work in decades.

Meanwhile, her catalogue remains one of the most viral in pop, repeatedly trending on social media worldwide, with her 2009 breakthrough “Starry Eyed” recently returning to the UK Official Charts after reaching #1 on TikTok earlier this year, further cementing her status as one of pop’s most enduring and influential voices.
