Shakira spoke exclusively to People Magazine about her remarkable 30-year career, personal reinvention and upcoming return to the FIFA World Cup stage.
The global superstar will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show on July 19thand has also released ‘Dai Dai’ with Burna Boy, the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026. 100% of royalties will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which provides kids around the world with access to education and soccer.
Reflecting on her journey, Shakira says: “I always thought that I was more fragile or weaker than what life proved me to be.”
The four-time Grammy winner opens up about overcoming personal challenges, revealing: “Through those challenging moments, I discovered how resilient we all are.”
Speaking about the lessons she’s learned, she adds: “Behind every experience in life, there’s always a lesson… even the people that leave you with scars, because they just make us better.”
Despite three decades at the top, Shakira says: “It feels like I’m just starting.”
