Following the release of her debut album, pop’s most exciting new voice Eli returns with the anticipated release of her single, “Glitter,” out now via Zelig Records/RCA Records.
Teased on socials earlier this year, the shimmering pop ballad has been a highly requested release by Eli’s army of fans – known as the ‘Eliance’ – for its addictive blend of Eli’s undeniable vocal prowess and irreverent lyrical wit, preaching finding someone worthy of your time and affection, who also hopefully has a bed frame and a job. Today, she’ll be celebrating the release in partnership with Spotify for Eli’s Glitter Bus Experience with GLOW, a fan-first experience that will be taking fans on a trip across NYC.
The release of “Glitter” marks Eli’s first single since her debut album Stage Girl earlier this fall. Teaming up with pop heavyweights including Mike Wise (Charli XCX, Chappell Roan), Jason Vance Harris (Role Model), and Jasper Harris (Camilla Cabello, Tate McRae), the 10-track album serves as, in her own words, “a conceptual pop epic about reclaiming the fedora and childhood trauma through a fictional reality singing competition.” Garnering critical acclaim, the album featured the viral singles “Marianne” and “Girl Of Your Dreams,” in addition to the powerhouse anthem “Somebody I’m Not.”
Eli burst onto the scene earlier this year, making waves across social media and garnering support from artists like SZA, Doechii, Troye Sivan, Addison Rae, Audrey Hobert, ADÉLA, and more, as well as personalities like Zane Lowe, Jake Shane, Owen Thiele and Benny Drama.
Writing, producing, and performing in front of her laptop in Los Angeles, Eli has built her steadily growing audience through an arsenal of TikTok livestreams, a pink fuzzy pen, overdue bills, and major musical aspirations. Her sound is pop perfection, with the sincerity, self-awareness, and introspection of a 20th-century screenager. In addition to referential inspiration of Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande, among other pop-defining divas, she carries a collection of complex yet forward-facing influences, including Imogen Heap, Charli XCX, Ethel Cain, PinkPantheress, Cashmere Cat, among others, making songs that have as much stadium potential as they do subreddit or Tumblr cult appeal.
Inspired by the formative moments of her childhood watching and voting for her favorite singers on reality television competitions, Eli has built Stage Girl not only through the music but through the visual and experiential world that accompanies it. She previously released a multi-part video series detailing the audition process and journey to become the ultimate performer, in addition to hosting live casting calls for fans in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, she brought the Stage Girl experience to life with her lauded, sold-out one-woman show in LA and New York, a hilarious and introspective production detailing Eli’s quest for stardom from the confines of her bedroom. Most recently, she hosted a special takeover on Apple Radio where she teased her forthcoming remix with Zara Larsson.
