Betty Taylor Live Review – The Grace – London 10th November 2025

First time seeing Australian BFFs Betty Taylor- and I was not disappointed! The venue is the ‘little sister’ to the more well known rock venue The Garage, in London’s Islington: but is actually preferable in lots of ways, not least for the huge amount of campy glitter balls on the ceiling and the dark, brooding sense of intimacy beneath. The band bounded onto the stage to Shania’s ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ which says girl power like nothing else. They bellowed “Hey London” and introduced themselves although it became clear that at least some of the crowd knew exactly who Betty Taylor were! A good sign.

The band confidently swung into the set and by the 4th song in were bouncing about and the odd virtuoso guitar solo thrown in: ‘Gaslighter’ had a fantastic guitar hook, ‘Stay Numb ‘ about relatable relationship woes, ‘Set Alight’ was drum driven percussion heaven. The massively catchy ‘Hollow’ was written about crying in the toilets. ‘Sick of You’.. self explanatory with a bold, strong beat. 

The latest radio friendly and ear-wormy single ‘Sucker Punch’ is a very happy falling in love song that organically inspired a huge clap-along from the crowd. By the final track – lead singer Sophie Patrick led a shout out intro to all members of the band to close what was triumphant show. It was a tight 12-song set and the vocals were harmonised and smooth throughout. In fact there was almost (almost!) a soft country vibe which was pleasing. The crowd were massively appreciative and there was definitely a heap of audience interaction.

Take notice: Betty Taylor may be girl next door ‘BFF’s but they certainly aren’t wallflowers and pull no punches. Havent seen them yet? Catch them on tour now, while you can!
