With Twenty One Pilots headlining All Points East at London’s Victoria Park, the festival brought together an impressive lineup of artists across the day — and among them was Ren, who took to the stage as one of the evening’s key support acts.
Before the show, I had the pleasure of meeting Ren backstage, where he kindly invited me onto the stage to watch his set from near the back. It gave me a unique perspective on a performance that quickly proved to be one of the standout moments of the evening.
There is something immediately captivating about Ren’s presence. His voice, style and confidence command attention, but perhaps most striking is the connection he creates with his audience. He looks completely at home on a festival stage of this scale.
Ren doesn’t simply perform his songs — he throws himself into them.
There is genuine passion behind his performance, and you can see how much he absorbs the atmosphere around him. Rather than simply going through the motions of a support slot, Ren makes the stage his own, bringing an energy and personality that feel completely authentic.
The crowd responded in kind.
His infectious energy and undeniable stage presence quickly pulled the audience in, creating an atmosphere that continued to build throughout the set. There was a real sense that Ren wasn’t simply playing to the crowd; he was performing with them, creating a genuine connection between artist and audience.
That is no small achievement on a festival stage, particularly when performing to an audience waiting for one of the world’s biggest alternative acts.
Yet Ren has the ability to make a huge festival setting feel personal while still delivering the scale and intensity the occasion demands.
By the end of his set, he had left a clear impression — and, perhaps more importantly, left the crowd wanting more.
Ren didn’t just support Twenty One Pilots at All Points East. He made sure he was remembered.
