Wednesday December 11th, London, 7pm GMT: In the lead up to the release of new album ‘Young Kingz II’, Krept – one half of trailblazing rap duo Krept & Konan, releases ‘Nala’s Song’ – a poignant and emotional ode to his young daughter Nala.

As the fourth teaser from the duo’s upcoming album, ‘Nala’s Song’ is a letter to his daughter offering life lessons and mantas to guide her. Filled with Krept’s reflective lyricism it is a moving reflection on fatherhood and legacy. The accompanying music video amplifies these sentiments and features Krept’s friends and family including DJ Target, JME, Tay Kabs and Docta Cosmic with their daughters, beautifully underscoring the tracks universal message.

Reflecting on the inspiration for the song, Krept explains‘A lot changed for me when I had my daughter. This song is a way to leave her with something timeless. It’s about breaking cycles and giving her the stability and love I never had. There’s so many values that I want to pass on to Nala in this track. I felt I needed to make this record because, God forbid if something were to happen to me, Nala will always have these gems to live by. She’s going to have disputes and relationship issues with family or close people, but I always want her to know to rectify them. You never know what could happen. Use your failures as lessons – bad things may happen, but it’s all about how you overcome them that will define you.’

As the release of ‘Young Kingz II’‘ approaches on the 7th February 2025, this track sets the tone for an album rooted in introspection, growth and set to be Krept & Konan’s most personal project to date.

The release of ‘Nala’s Song’ follows recent single Smooth Lovin’ ft Popcaan alongside teaser solo freestyles; ‘Daily Duppy: New Snap City FT Chip’, from Krept; and Konan’s Last Night In Kingston which have built excitement for the upcoming album and provoked a huge response, reaffirming Krept & Konan’s undisputed status as ‘UK rap royalty’.

‘Young Kingz II’ is the long-awaited sequel to Krept & Konan’s 2013 mixtape ‘Young Kingz’, which made history as the highest-charting album by an unsigned act on the UK Albums Chart. Independently released on their Play Dirty label, ‘Young Kingz II’ brings their journey full circle – a reflective exploration of life-defining moments since their debut, rooted in their heritage and recorded largely in Jamaica. The album features an impressive roster of collaborators, including Nigerian star Oxlade, Jamaican icons Sizzla and Popcaan, UK rap heavyweights ChipPotter PayperGhettsYoungs Teflon, and actors Michael Ward and Damson Idris. It also incorporates a poignant sample of Konan’s father, Reggae legend Delroy Wilson. Blending Afrobeats, Dancehall, Grime, and Hip Hop, ‘Young Kingz II’delves into deeply personal themes – PTSD, fatherhood, grief, loss, and systemic injustice – while addressing the realities of incarceration, and survival. It’s set to be a bold and poignant statement, cementing Krept & Konan’s legacy as voices of resilience and authenticity in British music.

To mark the release of ‘Young Kingz II’, Krept & Konan will host a sold out intimate live show at Outernet London on April 9 2025. ‘Young Kingz II’ is Krept & Konan’s first album since top-5 charting Revenge Is Sweet, a project which cemented their place in music history and saw them become the first British rap act to headline the O2 London. It alsofollows the duo’s equally ground-breaking 2017 release of 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS, which saw them become the first act ever to have two mixtapes simultaneously enter the Top 10 of the Official UK Albums chart, and their 2015 debut album The Long Way Home which debuted at no. 2 on The Official UK Albums Chart,  becoming the highest charting British Rap album in UK chart history.

‘Young Kingz II’ is poised to be yet another milestone in Krept & Konan’s unstoppable career as they continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks in British music.
