an emotional collaboration with singer-songwriter Dean Lewis out now.
Gentle yet full of longing, frontman Ryan Hennessy and the Australian feature sing about being trapped in the agonising love of the same girl. “She’s lying there in my bed, but she’s kissing you in her head”.
After the success of their last album ‘Parked Car Conversations’ and the single ‘Satellites’, the collaboration with Dean Lewis proves once again that the quartet’s combination of moving lyrics and catchy melodies touches the hearts of their fans.
The title ‘Middle of Love’ is to be taken literally, as the song hits in the middle of the and touching sound of Picture This and the reduced singer-songwriter style of Dean Lewis. An ebb and flow of emotions that is also reflected in the in the production. Initially accompanied only by subtle instrumentation, the duet between Ryan Hennessy and Dean Lewis builds to a grand finale with drums and strings
“When I first started writing ‘Middle of Love’ as a male duet the very first person I thought I’d love to feature on it was Dean Lewis,” Ryan Hennessy talks about how the song came together. “I’ve been a fan for years and we’ve crossed paths a few times but had never worked together. Dean loved the idea as soon as I sent it to him and got to work on it right away and he took it to a whole new level like I knew he would. He was always the perfect person for this collaboration and I’m so glad we could make it happen.”
And Dean Lewis adds: “I’ve been a huge fan of Picture This for so long and the first time I heard about them I heard that they play these huge shows in Ireland which I thought was so cool because as I jokingly told them I’m 30% Irish! I’ve always wanted to work with the boys and we got in a room and finished the song together that they had started and it was just a really fun process! I’m excited for everybody to hear it.”
Known for hits such as ‘Be Alright’ and ‘Waves’, Dean Lewis has received over 13 billion streams worldwide and dozens of multi-platinum, platinum and gold certifications since his debut EP ‘Same Kind of Different’ in 2017. His new, long-awaited album ‘The Epilogue’ will be released this autumn. Recently, Picture This performed to a total of 60,000 fans across sold-out shows in Dublin, Belfast and Cork.
