FEATURING THE NEW FOCUS TRACK ‘GOING NOWHERE’

UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS IN OCTOBER

The Sherlocks today relish a landmark moment in their career with the release of their new album ‘People Like Me & You’. Representing a bold evolution in their sound, the record is not only the best set of their career to date, but it’s also a serious contender to achieve their highest chart position – currently the #6 spot achieved by their debut album ‘Live For The Moment’. The campaign has so far seen The Sherlocks earn Jordan & Vick’s Tune of the Week as well as ongoing support from Jack Saunders at Radio 1. Listen HERE.

Previewed by ‘Remember All The Girls’, ‘Sirens’‘Don’t Let It Out’ and the title track, there’s plenty more essential material for fans to immerse themselves within. Fresh highlights include the new focus track, the living-for-the-weekend rush of the instantly anthemic ‘Going Nowhere’, which is equalled by the swaggering drive of ‘Here & Now’, somehow both forward-thinking and touchingly nostalgic, and the widescreen atmospherics of ‘Won’t Stop’.

Its most experimental moment in the sound collage ‘Watson’, which is constructed around a spoken word performance by old band friend John Watson, speaking sagely about the human condition as his words hone in on the message that emerges throughout the record: “We fear to be lonely but you are not alone. We are one. For the rest of existence, there will always be people like me and you.”

Collectively it’s a record which pulsates with the anthemic synth-rock of The Killers and White Lies, the crunching enormity of Manic Street Preachers, prime Coldplay chant-alongs and the space glam textures of Kasabian, all moulded into unmistakably Sherlocks shapes. At times they go heavier and more frenetic, as heard in the singles ‘Sirens’ and ‘Remember All The Girls’.

Frontman Kiaran Crook says, “There’s a lot more programmed stuff, it’s not just relying on guitar, bass and drums, there’s some different sounds in there. It was the next step of the band. With our band that’s always the aim, to try to push it as far as we can, make it sound as big as we can.”

The band – completed by Kiaran’s brother and co-founder Brandon Crook (drums) plus relatively recent additions Alex Procter (guitar) and Trent Jackson (bass) – recorded the album during sessions at The Motor Museum in Liverpool with producer Al Groves (Bring Me The HorizonThe Reytons).

Strong pre-orders for ‘People Like Me & You’ saw all 500 copies of Blood Records’ special tricolour vinyl edition quickly sell-out. Limited physical formats remain available HERE, including a picture disc, signed black and yellow vinyl editions, a signed CD and a red cassette.

The ‘People Like Me & You’ campaign has also seen The Sherlocks scale up the size of their live shows. Their October tour represents their biggest UK headline shows to date, while their European headline tour achieves the same feat with gigs in a further eleven countries. The band have also been packing venues across the land with a run of intimate shows hosted by select independent record stores. Please see HERE for ticket details and a list of all upcoming dates.
