Here At Last Music Promotions Interview

Zach Loizou, Tommy Lyon, Pedro Santos, James Thomas and Ryan Burns are Here At Last, the band that You will love if you don’t already! From selling out their own show at Shepherd’s Bush in London to performing at Hyde Park headlined by Take That, with millions of streams on Spotify, what else have Here At Last been doing, and when can we expect new music? All that and more was discussed in their interview with Music Promotions. Read below.

Your single “God Took His Time.” What’s the story behind it, and how long did it take you to write?

That may have been about a relationship, as with a lot of our songs, we like to keep it a mystery! that is the most that you are getting!!

We weren’t really a main part of the writing process with this particular song; we did put our own spin and personal experiences into it. There were a lot of people involved with the song.

On your Instagram, you played the song to the girl it was written about. Is she still okay with having the song written about her?

She loved it. She has pre-saved it as well, we think!! She does really like it.

TikTok plays a huge part in music showcasing. Does this help bands like yourself get your music out there?

Definitely, I mean, to be fair, not just bands, the number of solo artists that have come from TikTok recently is crazy; it is a great way to make yourself known; you can post a video, and it can get millions of views at the cost of nothing, it is defiantly the best way to get your self out there.

You did do the Niall Horan cover. Have you got any more covers to release?

There is none currently in the works for Spotify; we are constantly posting covers for YouTube. The story behind the one on Spotify is that we all absolutely love ‘Heaven’, and we did our own YouTube cover for it, and we thought, let’s put it on Spotify. “Zach” produced the whole thing; it was a dream for Zach to have his production credits on Spotify. As of right now, we have no plans, but saying that ‘Heaven’ wasn’t in the plan, we thought it was a cool thing to do, so who knows?

This year, you’ve sold out the 02 Shepherds bush. How was that for you all?

Incredible. We don’t remember anything about it. All we know is that the videos exist (laughs). We had our parents there, which was so lovely. There were a lot of celebration tears afterwards; it was a night we will never forget.

How did it feel stepping out onto that stage knowing that everyone was there for you?

So surreal; it was dark, then the lights went up, and there was a sea of people who were all there for us. it didn’t help our nerves. If you have seen our intro, the stage is in total darkness, then the lights flicked up behind us and pointed at the audience. Hence, it turned us into silhouettes. The audience could only see Silhouettes, but we could see every single person in that room; that was nerve-wracking & threw us in at the deep end, but within the first ten seconds, we were all loving it.

Are there any venues on your bucket list to perform at?

Doing the Inigo inside the O2 arena and The Shepherd Bush That we have done already. The O2 Arena and Wembley one day if we are lucky enough. The goal is just to keep increasing the capacity with each venue we perform at.

You have a new tour later this year. Can you give any details about what everyone can expect?

It’s all a secret!! There might be a few new-sounding songs for that tour, but that’s all we can say. It will be a very exciting tour.

Are you working on new music right now? Do you have an EP or album coming this year?

We are so excited. The EP is out in August; with the EP, it feels like starting a new chapter. We have this new sound from a lot of writing we have been doing over the last few weeks. We have found this fun and joyful sound. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

It’s a mixture of old stuff and new without giving too much away.

The best way to describe it would be our development through the music and our sound.

As songwriters, which fellow songwriters inspire you?

In today’s generation, Ed Sheeran is one of the most prolific songwriters, so working with him would be incredible. All of the music he releases is great, and the amount of music he has written for other artists is fantastic. Julia Michaels is someone else we would love to work with.

When you’ve written a song and recorded it, who’s the first person to hear it?

Our manager is first, and then we go from there.

What are your plans for the rest of the summer and year?

We have a few festivals lined up, Hyde Park on Saturday with ‘Take That’, then a festival in Scotland, which will be a long overnight trip, and then some August festivals. also, getting ready for the EP and tour. In between a lot of songwriting and content creation.
