Having shared thrillingly reimagined 2.0 versions of ‘Loser Kid’ (with Simple Plan), ‘Meet You There’ (with Neck Deep) and ‘Crashed The Wedding’ (with All Time Low) as well as new take on ‘MMMBop’ with Hanson, Busted will release their eagerly anticipated ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ album on September 15th. The album is launched alongside another crowd-pleasing collab as Busted are joined by Jonas Brothers for a rejuvenated take on ‘Year 3000’. LISTEN HERE.
‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ is a fresh take on the formats which collates newly recorded versions of all of Busted’s biggest hits, fan favourites and live staples, while the album’s deluxe formats also feature a host of previously unreleased dream collaboration special guests with McFly, James Arthur, You Me At Six, The Vamps, Bowling For Soup, Dashboard Confessional, Deaf Havana, Wheatus and rising newcomer Charlotte Sands. All formats except for the vinyl also include a brand new song titled‘Good One’.
Busted said, “Year 3000 has been such a big part of the Busted journey for the last 20 years. The love that this song has just keeps growing, with the fans that were with us from the beginning and now a new generation. We were thrilled when the Jonas Brothers gave it a whole new lease of life over in the states back in 2006, so we are excited to share this new 2.0 version with them in 2023!”
The deluxe editions of ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ open with the Busted x Jonas Brothers update on ‘Year 3000’. It’s a song which feels as if it has its own time-travelling twist, as the like-minded Transatlantic bands infuse it with a zesty bounce that somehow has even more youthful energy than it did back when it was first raced up the charts 20 (!) years ago. The Jonas Brothers of course need no introduction. The trio have lit up stages and screens alike, and still remaining hugely popular – as shown by their recent record ‘The Album’ hitting #3, the second highest UK album chart position to date. The brothers recorded their own version of ‘Year 3000’ back in 2006 and it remains one of their all-time most streamed tracks.
Jonas Brothers say, “We were so excited to collaborate with Busted to recreate one of their classics. ‘Year 3000’ is a timeless song, and we are thrilled to share it in a new, fresh way alongside the other collaborations they’ve done!” |
