Camilla K Music Promotions Interview

Camilla K The lady behind “PRETTY BITCH GANG” spoke to Music Promotions about the story behind the song, more music in coming, What she music is she streaming right now and lots more chat.

Pretty Bitch Gang, what was your idea behind the making of this song?
-Firstly I wanted to experiment with my favourite genre of that time and that was reggaeton. So I had my producer Mav P create it in the studio with me. I later brought in my co-writer AV Allure to help me write the song to it. English is my fourth language so I always seek out amazing writers who can express what I want to say in a song. I wanted something sassy and sexy that represents girls and a gang (just like boys do!).

Have you already planned the follow up single to this one?
I have a lot of new material lined up so now it’s just down for me to decide which one is the best follow up single. I have two in mind already!

Is there an album in the making? Anything you can talk about?
An album is not on my closest radar at the moment and the reason being is that I really really enjoy releasing singles and creating videos for them. Side note; Pretty Bitch Gang has a video in the works. I feel like an album will be more appropriate once I’ve got more material out and a body of work can be put together as a collection.

Having been born and raised in Sweden and the lives in LA and now London, what have been some of your best music and non-music memories from places you have lived?

In my early life in Sweden I would perform Whitney Houston songs on stage and those are probably some of my favourite moments. Once I moved to LA I was more focused on the networking part as it was such a great city for that. I also went to music school there so I feel that LA was a huge learning experience for me. London was the place where it all came together for me. I started getting more support from other well-known artists, I scored my first major TV show/festival performance, which I got flown out to Germany for. I signed with record labels and did my first paid shows here in London. I also found the best suited collaborators here. Just saying it out loud now, is kind of magical as it makes me realize how full circle it all has come since I first started.

How was your launch party for your single “Pretty Bitch Gang”

The launch party was lit! So many amazing people came through to support, especially the celebrities that are from the UK, that was really cool. I got to perform again after a 4 year hiatus, so it was nerve wracking but so much fun!

Who have been your influences growing up to now musically?

I started out closely studying Mariah Carey, I was obsessed with her.

I’d actually skip school to stay home and record myself singing her songs for 8 hours straight until my mom would come home angrily knocking on my bedroom door to ask why I haven’t been to school! These times really shaped my voice and taught me lyricism and bettered my English. I loved to sing Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys songs too, along with any 90’s RnB. Later on I’d be heavily inspired by Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Natti Natasha and Becky G. I love their sounds and their artistry.

Any future collaborations in the works?

That’s under wraps! I’ll leave that to be a surprise once it’s out.

Are you a songwriter for other artists, too?

I haven’t written for others intentionally, however I’ve had artists take pieces of my poetry to create songs from them in the past. I’ve done some co-writing in the past but nothing major yet. I’d love to be part of a writing camp in the future however, but for now I’m focused on being the best artist I can be.

Top 5 tracks you are streaming right now?

Tyla – Water, Miley Cyrus – Flowers, Coco Jones – ICU, Olivia Rodrigo – Vampire and Kodak Black – Walk And of course Water, Miley Cyrus – Flowers, Coco Jones – ICU, Olivia Rodrigo !

Do you have any touring plans?

We’re in the talks of doing a club tour in the UK, so I’m excited to get started with that!

Plans for 2024?

A video for Pretty Bitch Gang! More shows and touring, I wanna meet the fans!

Final messages from you?

Just a huge massive THANK YOU to everyone that streams my music and supports me as an artist. None of this would be possible without you!
