DYLAN JOHN THOMAS SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘YESTERDAY IS GONE’ & ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER HEADLINE TOUR

The rise of Scotland’s next songwriting talent Dylan John Thomas continues as he releases the new single ‘Yesterday Is Gone’ and announces details of a November UK headline tour. The track is the first new music from Dylan this year taken from sessions for his forthcoming debut album, details to be announced soon. Following his hotly anticipated dates at Reading and Leeds Festivals this August, the November national headline tour includes 2 further nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom. Demand for those shows is sure to be high after he sold-out 3 shows at the venue during 2022, with the first of which selling out in just a day, leading to rousing crowd singalongs to early favourites such as ‘Fever’.

‘Yesterday Is Gone’ encapsulates everything behind Dylan’s constantly evolving songwriting style.

Dylan says, “‘Yesterday Is Gone’ was recorded in Liverpool a couple of months ago and I’m looking forward to playing it live. It’s a bit different for us – I was listening to a lot of synth film soundtracks at the time”.

Dylan wrote ‘Yesterday Is Gone’, which he produced alongside his regular collaborator Rich Turvey (BlossomsThe Coral).

While it’s early in Dylan’s career, he’s already an artist’s artist. Gerry Cinnamon has offered his support from the very beginning while he has also been invited to support the likes of Liam Gallagher, Sam FenderStereophonics and, most recently, DMA’S on their UK national tour.

Fantastic reactions at Dylan’s recent festival appearances including a main stage set at TRNSMT, and performances at Neighbourhood and Glastonbury have been backed up by airplay at Radio 1BBC Introducing6 Music and Radio X. Last year Dylan was awarded the prestigious Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Scottish Music Awards.

Dylan grew up in a foster home in Glasgow and became a young man inspired by much older artists: Bob DylanLeonard Cohen and especially Johnny Cash, whose ‘Ring of Fire’ was the first song Dylan learned when he was given a guitar one Christmas. His start was modest, busking in Glasgow’s lashing rain and darting around the city’s open mic circuit, before an invite to support Gerry Cinnamon was the impetus for his own fanbase to take shape. A landmark moment soon followed, when he sold-out King Tut’s quicker than any other debuting Scottish artist.

Given Dylan’s committed live following, it might be surprising that Dylan has only released two EPs and a couple of standalone singles so far. His lyrics are defined by his very personal, observational and at times witty takes on experiences and emotions.

Tickets for Dylan’s November headline tour, dates listed below, will go on sale HERE from 9am this Thursday, July 6th, except Glasgow which will be available from tomorrow, Tuesday 4th July at 9am.. In addition to the tour, he is also confirmed for festival dates at Belladrum Tartan Heart (July 29th), Leeds (August 25th), and Reading (August 27th).
