THE FAMILY RAIN TEAM UP WITH TALK SHOW FOR SYNTH LADEN REMIX OF ‘GASOLINE’

The Family Rain have teamed up with London based electronic alt-punks Talk Show to create a stunning, high-energy remix of their recent single ‘Gasoline’

Talk Show have taken the bluesy, party-rock swagger of the original and transformed it into a synthy electro-clash banger that melds techno, Italo-disco and rock into a fiendishly catchy dance-floor stomper that stays true to the cocksure spirit of the original track.

“Most remixes we have had in the past sound like a disconnected idea with a few of our lyrics sprinkled on top” says The Family Rain. “What Talk Show have done with this remix sounds like a parallel universe version of “Gasoline”, it sounds like it’s been written for this style and compliments the melody perfectly. It sounds like Hot Chip have remixed the Rolling Stones!”

“’Gasoline’ already sounded massive with sharp vocal hooks & an instrumental to match, so we wanted to build on that” Talk Show add. “We injected some electro-punk energy, taking influence from the indie dancefloor fillers of the early 2000s, I wanted to put The Family Rain on the dance floor. Turns out they can do a pretty good robot.”

Three minutes of blistering guitar noise, ‘Gasoline’ was the three brothers – twins Will (bass/vocals) and Tim Walter (drums) and older brother Ollie (guitars) – return, offering a tantalising glimpse of their new material. The single follows a sold-out tour of the UK, which saw the band headline the 100 Club in London.

Described unapologetically by the band as a “self-glorifying party anthem and rock and roll  hype track”, ‘Gasoline’ was produced by Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Ghost, Royal Blood), who the band describe as their ‘fourth member’.

“It’s a sonic pick-me-up. Something that our favourite bands (AC/DC, The Rolling Stones) nailed, and what current guitar music shies away from” The band explain. “We wanted to go all the way with this track and make the listener feel like Scarface on steroids. We know it’s only rock and roll…but we adore it”

With a new album in the works, 2023 is set to be the year The Family Rain return and firmly stake their claim as UK rock royalty.
