At a time when people are separated by lockdown, divisive politics and culture wars, LA-based singer-songwriter GoldFord’s ‘Walk With Me’ is emerging as a powerful anthem of togetherness. Regardless of our current situation, it’s a potent reminder that a little togetherness can be invaluable as we wait for these times to pass. LISTEN HERE.
GoldFord’s simple yet soothing message hits home from the very beginning. Reminiscent of both Sam Cooke and Sam Smith, GoldFord’s soul-pop vocals and the gospel backdrop make an immediate impression as he sings:
“Walk with me
I’ll walk with you
Down these troubled roads
We’ve stumbled into
We’re all in this thing together
We’re gonna make it through”
GoldFord and AG (Christina Perri, Aloe Blacc) wrote ‘Walk With Me’ during the early stages of lockdown, which also made the recording of the song a challenge. GoldFord and the backing vocalists had to social distance while recording their parts, while the instrumental parts were all completed remotely.
“I wrote ‘Walk With Me’ just as the world was coming undone,” says GoldFord. “If I could talk to myself right now, all that I would want to hear is that it’s going to be OK. It was one of those rare moments where you caught the emotion and the song wrote itself.”
‘Walk With Me’ was initially released in the States last year, where it remained one of the five most Shazammed songs for six weeks straight. It continued to win admirers when it soundtracked a key moment in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’later in 2020. GoldFord also released an inspiring stripped back version of ‘Walk With Me’, using just piano and vocal harmonies. Watch HERE.
The LA-based singer-songwriter GoldFord pairs his soulful, gritty vocals with sincere, relatable lyrics – an irresistible combination that has caught the attention of a growing audience. His debut single ‘Upside Down’ surpassed 30 million streams, which resulted in high profile artists such as Kygo, Sam Feldt and X Ambassadors enlisting him as a collaborator. He also penned Andy Grammer’s hit song “Give Love”. His captivating voice can be heard on hit shows “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Station 19” as well as commercials for Jeep, CocaCola and Brawny.
GoldFord is currently putting the finishing touches to a new EP that will be released later this year
