The alternative neo-classical pioneer Dardust is about to embark upon a hugely ambitious European tour in support of last year’s acclaimed double-album ‘DUALITY’. An epic, genre-fluid sonic and visual experience, the tour will see Dardust bring an immersive arena-ready show to London for an intimate show at the on April 3rd.
Dardust’s ‘DUALITY’ show will see him showcase the two halves of his musical soul – solo piano and electronic music – in a unique multidimensional live experience with spectacular visual effects. At the heart of the experience is Dardust’s highly accomplished live piano performance, but the innovative sound designs encompasses analogue and digital synths, processors, samplers, triggers and filters to create a postmodern, club culture take on classical music tradition.
The accompanying visuals truly heighten the experience. Opening with the surreal image of Dardust apparently performing within a Japanese garden, it unfolds to explore an immersive, escapist interpretation of the story of the four seasons. Just as the music blurs organic live elements with innovative electronica, the visuals use dazzling 3D imagery to display striking references to the natural elements that come with every season.
Dardust says, “I’ve been planning this show in detail for more than a year, and it’s finally becoming a reality. It’s an ambitious, courageous and unprecedented show in many ways. The visuals perfectly represent the two souls of the show. In the first part we have told the story of the four seasons in a new and ambitious way, and in the second act we have four different segments which are told in a super fluid and aesthetic language, as if it were a journey into mankind’s subconscious.”
Dardust, aka Dario Faini, is one of the most influential pianists of his generation. His music has been heard at such global events as the Superbowl, the NBA All Star Game, an Apple Product Launch Keynote Address and the flag handover at the closing ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, to name but a few. As an exceptional songwriter and producer, he has scored a string of hits in Italy, with more than 70 Platinum discs and 500 million streams to his name so far. In recent years he has collaborated with an array of international artists, including Benny Benassi and Sophie and the Giants, who joined him on stage at Turin’s PalaOlimpico during his performance at the 66th Eurovision Song Contest.
