“While Taylor Swift fans await her re-recording of 1989 Aimée all but beats her to the punch with this adrenaline rush of devotion that also bears comparison to Robyn’

GUARDIAN – Laura Snapes on her last single ‘Nobody Else’

After a momentous 2022, which saw Aimée become the most played Irish female artist on radio, she is back with an empowering new single ‘Hurt Like Hell’. This ultimate break up song, is released on February 10th, via Universal Music.

Aimée says, “I wanted to write a song for people going through heartbreak and hope it might give them a little spark of confidence when they hear it. I also wanted a song that tempts every person to grab and sing into their hairbrush, throw their middle finger in the air and scream IT’S GONNA HURT LIKE HELL!”.

She went on to say:  “Let’s face it, Valentines Day is not all roses and romance for everyone. I’ve noticed so many more people embracing an anti-Valentines Day vibe these past few years. Which is all about self love, self respect – not needing a relationship to validate you. This is a song about loving yourself enough to leave a bad relationship!”

Ready to take 2023 by storm, the talented 27-year-old’s impowering anthem has been co-written and recorded with her “dream team” consisting of Nick Jarl (Westlife, Loreen), Richey McCourt (Will Young, TINI) and Swedish icon Joakim Berg (Zara Larsson, Avicii). ‘Hurt Like Hell’ see’s Dublin native Aimée truly find her voice and deliver something very special.

Aimée regularly flies between Sweden and LA to write and record new music, and last year saw her play a sold-out headline show at Dublin’s Academy, a debut regional tour, a Late Late Show TV performance and she also signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with BDi music.

She is part of the Irish Women in Harmony collective, whose first single ‘Dreams’ received over 5 million streams on Spotify and made history as the first female act to hold the number-one spot on the Official Homegrown Irish Chart. Since then, she has been a champion for Irish women’s voices in an industry dominated by men.

Aimée first came to light on YouTube, where got ¼ million views on her very first video in less than a week! She then built her following on Instagram with her one min Wednesday’s, after which, she then was asked to compete on the X Factor.  She was axed just before judges houses as the producers wanted her mother, who was going through cancer treatment at the time, to be interviewed, which Aimée declined. Her mother was a huge influence in her life and sadly passed away 5 years ago.  She is now hugely relieved she didn’t make the live shows as she feels that it gave her time to develop as an artist. Aimée has been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend since childhood – he has also been an inspiration for some of her previous releases.

She has been a vegan for 5 years and enjoys sharing cooking tips. A lover of fitness she is also a skilled dancer and choreographer – in fact her family run an award-winning dance school in Dublin, and they were the winners of Ireland’s Got Talent!
