How excited are you to release your debut single?
I am ecstatic – that doesn’t even put it. If you told 13 year old me when I first started writing songs 2 years ago, that I’d be releasing my first single, I would have laughed in your face!! Corny and cliche maybe, but I’m eternally grateful that I’m able to share my little passion with the world.
‘Run’ was written for your younger brother, what was his first reaction to hearing this song?
Well I actually, I only told Charlie that it was written about him after he’d heard it, I wasn’t expecting a big reaction aha, but he said “That’s nice, thank you Belle!” and I’m pretty content with that response!
How long did it take you to write it? I literally wrote Run in half an hour, I found it to be one of the easiest songs that I’ve ever written! I just had all these ideas and overwhelming thoughts that I had to put on paper, when I feel I’m on to something, I can’t leave it unfinished.
Having grown up in a musical family, was it always your dream to be a singer your self?
To be honest, I can’t remember a time where I haven’t been singing!! When I was little (still now too lol) I would watch all these 2000’s music videos and get this excitement and hope that it could be me one day. I’m sure my parents would’ve much preferred me to be a doctor or something, but I’m afraid that’s not going to happen!
Would you like to pursue acting alongside the singing?
I’d so so love to be in the acting industry as well. I’ve grown up doing theatre and recently I’ve found a passion for screen acting, I have a checklist of all my goals that I hope to achieve, and pursuing acting is definitely near the top of the list!!
Who influences you musically?
Oh my gosh, I’m inspired by so many artists and become such a fan girl lol. Avril Lavigne, Pink, Olivia Rodrigo, Alanis Morissette, all these artists are such icons, they all treasure their own authenticity which I love, and all share this angst in their music which is just so awesome, I’m most definitely influenced by their features in my own songs.
What are your most streamed songs right now?
Ooo I have quite a few songs playing on repeat at the moment lol. Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is one of my faves, literally life changing. The whole sour album is part of my daily routine, as well as Grow As We Go by Ben Platt, Hand in My Pocket by Alanis, Conan Gray and Taylor Swift songs. I literally am never not listening to music.
What has been the best concert you have been to? And who are you hoping to see?
I know it’s crazy, but I actually haven’t been to many concerts at all!! I have so many artists I would kill to see live, and always watch the concert videos on YouTube aha. I adore Billie Eilish’s energy when performing, she creates this insane, raw and exciting environment for her fans, and even through a screen is mesmerising to watch. I have a lengthy list of concerts I am manifesting to see, so I won’t go into much detail but, Pink, Joshua Bassett, Lizzo, Jlo, Little Simz, Griff and soooo many more!
Do you have anything live booked in?
Nothing booked as of yet, but I’m always up for and love performing live!!
Do you have an Ep or full album in the works? My first single “Run” is being released on the 22nd July, on all streaming platforms (AHHH!!). I’m always writing and creating and I have soooo much music I would love give and share with everyone, got 7 done at the mo so keep posted!! 🙂
