SANREMO, ITALY – 27TH FEB 2026: Last night, Alicia Keys captured the attention of the international music community by performing “L’aurora” with Eros in beautiful Italian on stage at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo. The stunning duet was a debut for the song which last year, Alicia Keys reinterpreted and produced (both in Italian and Spanish versions) of “L’aurora”; one of the most intimate and precious songs in Eros’ repertoire. The voices of the two artists merged in an authentic dialogue capable of giving the song a new emotion and an unexpected light for the very first time live. The Sanremo performance was a meaningful homecoming of sorts, with Alicia proudly honouring her Italian roots, which trace back to her Sicilian grandparents.
Of the performance, Alicia said:
‘There’s another level of magic in singing in Italian on this iconic stage. I’ve never quite done it like this before! I have always proudly carried my Italian heritage, and being at Sanremo allowed me to sing it out loud. It was a proud a special opportunity to honour my roots, my Sicilian grandparents and the fact that the power of music has no boundaries! I’ll never forget tonight!!’
Widely regarded as one of the most powerful vocalists of her generation, Alicia’s performance marked a significant cultural moment, blending her signature style with a tribute to Italian musical heritage.
