Today, GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist JP Saxe has released The Deluxe Edition: Dangerous Levels of Introspection, with lead single, “Soft Landing” alongside a dynamic official music video via Arista Records. The deluxe album features two additional new tracks, “Love v. Logic” and “Hold On To Me”. With this new release, Saxe delivers another installment of deeply personal and anecdotal songwriting, continuing to showcase the uniquely vulnerable side to his artistry. Listen HERE. Saxe states: “I spent over five years on the original version of this album, so getting to add onto it with some extra time and objectivity was very creatively freeing. I got to ask myself, ‘what parts of me feel under explored on this album, and how do I add them in?’ ‘Love v. Logic’ is about my inability to affect what I feel with what I’d prefer to feel. ‘Hold On To Me’ is about wanting to get lost in someone without losing yourself in them. ‘Soft Landing’ is about realizing everything is probably going to go to shit and there’s not much you can do about it. I wrote this song with John Ryan and Savannah Santos in about an hour. Not overthinking every little element of a song for a change, to me, made this one what it is.” The original version of Dangerous Levels of Introspection was released this summer and was met with widespread support and acclaim from Rolling Stone, Uproxx, and Elle, who declared “his songwriting capabilities and melodic harmonies are unmatched”. In support of the record, Saxe performed on The Today Show, The Ellen Show and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert with special guest, John Mayer for their collaboration, “Here’s Hopin’”. Included on the record is GRAMMY®-nominated track for Song of the Year, “If The World Was Ending” featuring Julia Michaels (which has been certified 3x Platinum) as well as “Line By Line” featuring Maren Morris. In addition to his first ever GRAMMY® nomination, Saxe has amassed over 1.6 billion total streams and received two iHeart Award nominations for Best New Pop Artist and Best Lyrics. He won the award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the JUNO Awards this past year, where he received five nominations in total. Saxe kicked off his U.S. headline tour this autumn, he will embark on his European headline tour in Spring 2022. Please see UK & Ireland tour dates below and full list of tour dates here.
