“Vibrant, sassy and downright catchy.” – 1883 Magazine
Fickle Friends have consistently continued to fuel expectation for the January 14th release of their second album ‘Are We Gonna Be Alright?’ with a bold and accomplished run of recent tracks. Those songs have already picked up international attention from the UK to Japan, as well as over 8 million streams plus key airplay at Radio 1 and 6 Music – suggesting that the new record could follow their 2018 debut album into the Top 10.

Those songs have been eclectic yet cohesive, spanning the cinematic slowburner ‘Pretty Great’ to the electrifying ‘80s-tinged alt-pop of ‘IRL’. Now Fickle Friends unveil another experimental edge to the new album with the single ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’.

The track was premiered last night as Jack Saunders’ Power Play on Radio 1Listen HERE. The track is released alongside an official video.

Watch it HERE.

‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ is the sound of Fickle Friends detonating the darkness and despair of the lockdown era, and emerging with a life-affirming rush of electro-punk attitude. From its razorsharp riffs to Natti Shiner’s feverish vocals, Fickle Friendshave created the most potent moment of their career to date.

The song was written by Fickle Friends and produced by their guitarist Jack Wilson.   Natti Shiner says, “We spent the last year feeling a little lost. It was like being in limbo, constantly waiting for something to change. This song is a bit of an ARGHHH moment in what was a truly confusing time for us as a band. I remember thinking how endless it felt. Making this record gave us purpose but we had no idea if anyone would still care at the end of it all.    With that in mind we kinda thought, what the fuck, let’s just go crazy and explore the heavier side of our music. I think it’s like the musical equivalent of hitting a punch bag to release your frustrations!”   Natti again unleashes those frustrations in the track’s official video.

It’s a simple but suitably intense visual, which expresses the song’s dynamism by rapidly cutting between quickfire cuts of her all-in performance.   ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ and the band’s other recent singles are provided as instant downloads for fans who pre-order ‘Are We Gonna Be Alright?’ HERE.

The band’s official store offers a range of bundles, signed items and new merch, while a marbled blue 140 gram vinyl is available from Norman RecordsResident and Rough Trade.

Fickle Friends will make a long-awaited return to the road with a major headline tour in January, tickets for which are available HERE.

They have previously sold-out sizable London shows at the O2 Kentish Town Forum and the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, played to overflowing tents at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, and graced the historic Alexandra Palace as guests to The Kooks. Their most recent gig was an intimate album teaser show at The Sebright Arms which sold out immediately.

Fickle Friends first established their reputation entirely independently, touring extensively throughout the UK and Europe before hitting the Top 10 with their major label debut album ‘You Are Someone Else’. They’ve since returned to their DIY roots and broadened the scope of their sound with two seasons of the ‘Weird Years’ EP series. It earned the band widespread critical acclaim as they exceeded 120 million career streams.
