‘Charli XCX’s Best Song Ever’ will premiere on BBC Sounds, Monday 9thAugust.
Charli XCX today announces her first standalone podcast ‘Charli XCX’s Best Song Ever’. Charli will chat to friends and celebrity guests from around the world, to discover the songs that have been instrumental in shaping their lives. By the end of each episode with Charli, special guests and cultural figures from across music, film, art and fashion will curate their ultimate life playlist by answering prompts to find out what ‘The Best Song Ever’ is, for all different situations and stages of life. What’s the best song to get through a break-up? What tune will always get the party started? Or what is the one song you could belt every lyric to, even if you hadn’t heard it in years? Charli prompts her guests into deeper conversations unearthing never before heard anecdotes, memories and emotions that come along with their ‘Best Songs Ever’. Along with her celebrity friends and listeners, Charli will examine and celebrate the power music has to move us and express our emotions. Fans can expect to hear from stars including Addison Rae, Beabadobee, Mark Ronson, Benny Drama, Barbie Ferreira, Ziwe, Bowen Yang, Tove Lo, Christine and the Queens, Caroline Polachek and many more, who will make up the twenty-episode first series.
Charli XCX will release her new single ‘Good Ones’ on September 3rd, the first single of her new chapter embracing all that the life of a popstar has to offer in today’s world – fame, glamour and global hits. Charli is an iconic figure in the arts, having helped expand the landscape of popular music over the last decade by seamlessly traversing the underground and the mainstream with her output. Charli’s innovative approach has opened up new possibilities within the pop sphere for both her and others.

“The reason I wanted to do this podcast is because I love talking to people, and I love exploring the emotional connection any person can have with music. Songs that soundtrack specific moments in life can amplify and affect a moment drastically and so I wanted to explore what those moments and songs are with some of my favorite creative people. In every conversation I’ve had, I’ve learnt something brand new about each guest and I feel like I’ve gotten to know each and everyone one of them a little bit more.” Charli XCX’s ‘Best Song Ever’ was produced by Max O’Brien and Amy Lee for Novel Productions.
