“Nothing short of brilliant” – The Line of Best Fit
‘Everyone You Know are on that converted upwards trajectory towards the charts’ – Gigwise
‘EYK have built their own universe…Their sensitive lyricism is offset by a rough hewn charm, matched to the ultra-vivd music’ – Clash
Multi-faceted sibling duo Everyone You Know have dropped their new single ‘Higher’ which will feature on their forthcoming 12-track EP ‘Just For The Times’ set for release in June. ‘Higher’ will also soundtrack the brand new national TV advert for O2 which will be running for the next six months.
Built on a foundation of distorted bass and a driving drum groove, ‘Higher’ is topped with Rhys’ anthemic vocal and is a slick embodiment of EYK’s signature genre blending style.
EYK say: “We’re always over the moon when we hear our music has been picked for adverts and TV etc, but to have a brand as big as O2 come along and ask to use one of your tunes in an advert is mental! Buzzing that ‘Higher’ is the track as well. We’ve been performing that on tours and at gigs for the last 18 months and it always goes down a treat, so to have that out is something we’re very excited about too.“
It’s been a busy 2021 for EYK so far, who have released a string of tracks in the lead up to their hotly anticipated 12-track EP ‘Just For The Times’. ‘Higher’ follows their most recent anthem ‘Just For The Times’ alongside Joy Anonymous which has been heavily supported by key tastemakers including BBC Radio 1’s Jordan North, Jack Saundersand Jess Iszatt.
EYK have had a rapid rise to success in a short space of time, amassing over 52 million worldwide streams, an explosive 15-date sold out UK tour, as well as a UK mainstage festival debut at Reading & Leeds and a stint as UK brand ambassadors for Reebok.
Fusing hip hop, garage, dance and punk, the London based duo cite J Dilla, Dr Dre, The Streets, Wu Tang Clan and Kano amongst their musical inspirations. Honing their signature sound, the pair have built a cult following with tracks such as Charlie’, ‘When The Sun Comes Up’, ‘Our Generation’, ‘She Don’t Dance’ and ‘The Drive’. The pair have garnered key tastemaker support along the way from the likes of Annie Mac(headlined AMP at Old Blue Last), Jack Saunders (Radio 1 Maida Vale Session), Steve Lamacq (6Music Session), BBC Introducing, Sunday Times Culture, NME, Complex, Notion, Gigwise, Clash and The Line of Best Fit positioning themselves as one of the most exciting and innovative new talents to come out of the UK.
With the release of their 12-track EP ‘Just For The Times’ set for release in June, 2021 looks set to be EYK’s biggest year yet.
