The campaign ahead of the October 4th release of Alison Moyet’s career-spanning reworks album ‘Key’ has heralded a time of rediscovery for the chart-topping, multiple BRIT Award winner. Sharing classic hits (‘Love Resurrection’‘All Cried Out’), deep cuts (‘Filigree’, ‘So Am I’) and the new song (‘Such Small Ale’), the recent preview tracks have celebrated her past while looking ahead to the future. This new chapter has been further highlighted with support from Radio 2, The Times and Classic Pop.

Now Alison shares a final preview of ‘Key’ ahead of next Friday’s release in the shape of the new version of ‘Where Hides Sleep’. Listen HERE.  The track emerges alongside news of a new ‘Key – Moyet Moments Edition’ digital album which is now available to pre-order / pre-save HERE. Inspired by her international #1 podcast series ‘40 Moyet Moments’, this new format adds a comprehensive track-by-track conversation between Alison, producer Sean McGhee, and podcast host Steve Coats-Dennis.

‘Where Hides Sleep’ is the opening track on the ‘Key’ album and one of the more radical interpretations in this revised set. Originally the closing song on her #1 debut album ‘Alf’, it was characterised by bright-hued, strident ‘80s production rich with layered vocal harmonies. Here it takes on a tone of quiet urgency; sparse electro-pop with a gothic undercurrent. A tonal shift particularly fitted for a song of insomnia, speaking to the desperate wait in darkness for the clock to name daylight.

Alison says, “‘Where Hides Sleep’, originating on the ‘Alf’ album, has its heritage in Yazoo and my writing of ‘Winter Kills’, though I find in its original presentation the intention is buried somewhat by the stridency of the production. This ‘KEY’ version centres the narrative and invites a greater intimacy far more fitting, I think, for the restless hours of the darkest quiet.

The ‘Key’ tracks so far prove that this is a reworks album with a difference. Working primarily with producer and long-term collaborator Sean McGhee, Alison has been bold enough to vary her approach throughout. While some songs stay faithful to the original, many are completely reinvented, and others are stripped-back. What remains constant, however, is that stunning voice – the same smoky, velveteen vocal that fans first loved now seasoned with experience from a life well-lived. Additionally, there is much more waiting to be discovered, from another new song (‘The Impervious Me’) to big hit (‘Is This Love?’) and numerous fan favourites.

‘Key’ is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE. The Deluxe Bundle is the prime package, which collates turquoise marble double-vinyl, CD and cassette with a signed art print and a phonetic t-shirt.

It has been a while since Alison toured extensively, but that’s all set to change with her 2025 world tour. The fan reaction has been phenomenal with all UK and Ireland shows sold-out months in advance, while ticket sales are also strong across Europe, and dates in Australia and New Zealand have recently been added. A further leg of shows in the US and Canadawill also be announced next month, and will take the tour to in excess of 50 shows.

Her touring plans have also just been boosted with confirmation of two 2025 summer dates: the Isle of Wight festival and a set at Glasgow Summer Sessions as Special Guest to Sting. The dates are:
