HEADLINE SHOW AT LA FAYETTE, LONDON ON 19TH MAY
Free Flight Records’ pop/folk singer-songwriter Darren Kiely releases his newest track today, “Say I” (LISTEN HERE / WATCH HERE). Written alongside Joe Fox and Geoff Warburton, Kiely channels his Irish candor to signal an SOS while seemingly drowning amid feelings of self-doubt. Darren has also just announced he’s confirmed to play The Great Escape festival, Brighton on the 16thMay, a headline gig in London at LaFayette on the 19th May and further dates in Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. “‘Say I’ is a song for when you need reassurance that there is some light or goodness still inside of you. It’s a determinate cry for help from someone or something that can reaffirm the light inside of you,” says Kiely. “I wanted my fans to hear this next song as it sets the tone for the next batch of music I plan to release.” Pulling inspiration from influences like Mumford & Suns, The Lumineers and Noah Kahan, Kiely has mastered his own distinctive sound while drawing in fans worldwide. With a busy start to the year thus far— “Sunrise” reaching No. 1 on the Irish Homegrown Chart, signing to Free Flight Records, and headlining his almost sold out 33 date tour THE LOST TOUR— Kiely continues to capitalize on his momentum with the announcement of plans to join Mat Kearney on the HEADLIGHTS HOME TOUR this autumn. Earlier this year, Kiely released, “Slow Decay,” a heart-wrenching song that battles moving on from something and struggling to let go after his track “Sunrise” reached No. 1 on the Irish Homegrown chart. “Sunrise” is featured on Kiely’s debut EP, Lost. His unique presentation of folk-infused pop and lush storytelling, which echoes the backdrop of the Irish countryside where he was raised, is the forefront of Lost. Kiely solo-wrote four of the seven tracks on the project and co-wrote the other three. The EP explores the triumphant war of overcoming self-doubt, struggling to find himself, questioning emotions and seeking answers. Lost features “Mom & Dad,” which debuted in the Top 40 on the Irish Singles Chart and also landed him in the Top 5 on the Irish Homegrown chart.
