Meltheads are in the home stretch towards the release of their debut album ‘Decent Sex’, and what a ride it is!
As they roar towards the finish line they today release their brand new single ‘No One Is Innocent’. A piledriving slice of raw punk energy,the song has a soaring guitar riff, snappy chorus and an insane bass break halfway through, followed by an eruption of energy only that Meltheads can produce.
“’No One Is Innocent’ is partly a song about the neighbourhood I grew up in” frontman Sietse explains. “I love the place, it’s diverse, warm, but can feel a little unbalanced between the haves and have-nots. The song is also about this socio-economic unfairness and how we, as a society, keep this corrupt system propped up. That’s why no one is innocent”
Formed in the Belgium city in 2018, this spirted 4-piece have already been making waves across their native country and the Netherlands with their caustic mix of noise, garage rock, punk and good old-fashioned rock-n-roll. The band’s 2022 single ‘Naïef’(Naive in English) has become a huge alternative anthem at home, and their recent single ‘Theodore’ has created some serious waves in the UK, USA and mainland Europe.
Getting a big thumbs up for previous singles from prominent names like Clash (UK), DIY (UK), KEXP (US) and Visions (DE), and having supported dEUS across Europe, Meltheads are ready to take on the world in 2024,
‘Decent Sex’ is out on 9 February, followed by release shows in Belgium, The Netherlands and Paris. On 17 January, Meltheads will vigorously kick off the year with a show at the highly influential ESNS showcase festival, where the part of the world that is still in blissful ignorance will get to know the brute force of Meltheads.
