Devon’s uplifting arena-ready trio Tors today get a new chapter in their story underway as they release their new single ‘Miracle’ – their first for Glassnote Records (Mumford & Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Jade Bird). The band are perfectly positioned for the new stage in their rise, which has already seen them earn Radio 1’s Introducing Track of the Week, a Radio 2 playlist, a huge tour as guest to Sam Ryder, almost 500K followers across social platforms and 25 million video views, primarily for their always impressive a cappella performances.
Having already inspired a huge reaction following early teasers – including millions of views of their a cappella clips, thousands of pre-saves, countless requests for its official release and a big reaction during their summer headline tour – the full version of ‘Miracle’ is now set to hit a much bigger audience. Listen HERE.
Taking the sweet, soaring harmonies and pure positivity that fans have fallen in love with, ‘Miracle’ ups the stakes with a rush of driving, melodic pop-rock and just enough added crunch to ensure that their sound is bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before. Lyrically it feels like a continuation of the previous fan favourite ‘Anything Can Happen’. While that song presented the reminder that there’s always hope in the darkest of times, ‘Miracle’ is about being determined to never give up, even if the odds are stacked against you. The song was written by Tors and was produced by Simone Felice (Lumineers, Vance Joy,Jade Bird).
Tors commented, “‘Miracle’ is a song about chasing your dreams headfirst and without compromise even when all the odds feel stacked against you. It’s not that you won’t quit but rather that you don’t know how; something in your DNA keeps pushing you forward to the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s based on our own experiences being a band and fighting tooth and nail to keep our heads above the water, knowing that our own miracle was coming.”
Tors were formed by brothers Matt and Theo Weedon, who have been immersed in music their whole life having been taught, in part, by their grandfather Burt Weedon OBE, whose ‘Play In A Day’ books inspired numerous iconic musicians from the ‘60s and ‘70s to play guitar. They completed the band with drummer Jack Bowden, who also comes from a similar background as both of his parents are music teachers.
Their studio is a converted barn in Devon, which provides an escape from city life for their collaborators. In addition to Tors’ music, the three musicians have collaborated as co-writers with Declan J Donovan (including 120 million streams for ‘Perfectly Imperfect’), Dean Lewis, Nick Wilson, The Wandering Hearts and many more, leading to 500 million+ streams to date.
In addition to the Sam Ryder tour, Tors sold-out their own summer UK headline tour as well as a one-off show in New York, and have also played with Tom Walker, John Newman, Picture This, X Ambassadors, Duncan Laurence and Walking On Cars. Their current run with Lime Cordiale will take them to eleven countries across Europe, including gigs in Berlin, Paris and Milan.
