“Everything that radio needs right now – solid melodies, catchy hooks and a new entry into the co-ed group space.”– Rolling Stone
MIYA MIYA are emerging as next up contenders on the British pop scene. Between their own tracks and co-writes for artists including Jonas Blue and RetroVision, they’ve exceeded 100 million streams at Spotify so far, as well as over 55 millionviews at TikTok just for their previous single ‘H8 Me 2’. Their rise has been heralded with Radio 1 airplay from Jack Saunders (Future Artists), Mollie King (Best New Pop) and Gemma Bradley as well as tastemaker tips from Rolling StoneClashWonderland and The Independent.

Today marks a bold step forward for MIYA MIYA with the release of their strongest single to date, ‘Without Me’Listen HERE.

Expanding their horizons in the alt-pop universe, ‘Without Me’ melds the genre’s punchy, high drama beats and gleaming synths with a throwback nod to the widescreen cinematic ballads of the ‘80s. A big part of the MIYA MIYA sound is the intuitive vocal interplay between Gini and Jordan. While the song’s lyrics are told from the perception of someone heartbroken after the end of a relationship, their duet also provides the feeling that both partners are equally as saddened by the split. ‘Without Me’ was entirely written and produced by MIYA MIYA.

MIYA MIYA commented, “We’ve always loved big, epic love stories and we really wanted to talk about something we’ve all been through. Everyone remembers their first love and the heartache of seeing them with someone else after they’ve moved on. We try to wish them well, but a part of us still hurts. This song made us feel a little bit better and we hope it can do the same for anyone else that needs it.”

MIYA MIYA first connected when studying music together at college, and their friendship naturally evolved into a band due to a shared appreciation for artists ranging from Imagine Dragons to Fleetwood Mac. The four are all instrumentalists for live shows too, with guitarist Gio and drummer James alongside lead vocalists Gini (also bass) and Jordan (also guitar). They released their debut EP ‘COLD BLOOD’ in 2020 before coming to wider attention the following year after featuring on Syn Cole’s ‘Feels Like Love’.

Their gigs so far have included headlining Gemma Bradley’s Whiplash showcase, playing as special guests at Omeara with Flawes, and hitting this summer’s Neck of the Woods festival.  They also played a groundbreaking virtual gig at the Metaverse Festival
