Electro-pop duo neontown share their brand new summer anthem, ‘June’, available now on all streaming platforms.
Citing The Chainsmokers, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Zedd and Marshmello as their biggest musical influences, neontown’s distinctive sound is influenced by late 2000s pop music, mixed with elements of contemporary electro-pop, dance and EDM.
Speaking of their latest single, neontown say, “The track is inspired by past personal experiences and it comes from a nostalgic place. During lockdown we had the chance to think about our lives a lot and put things into perspective and it was just great to remember old good carefree days and imagining what reliving those memories now will be like.
We wrote it in summer so we also felt like giving the song some really cool summer vibes. And we think that ultimately it is a song that a lot of people can relate to.”
Originally from Italy and currently residing in Leeds, neontown is made up of musicians Jac and Aure. After working on solo projects for years, the pair decided to merge their experiences and started writing music together for ‘neontown’. During the first lockdown, they started experimenting with different ideas and themes until they finally found their distinctive sound and started recording music in their home studio.
Jac and Aure are the writers, producers and the performers of neontown. Their first single, ‘One Of Us’ was released in July 2020 and is an electro-pop anthem about self-love, self-awareness and acceptance (watch the music video here). They wanted their debut track to be a sort of manifesto for neontown and what they wanted to convey with the name of the projects. Since it’s release, they have amassed over 70K streams on Spotify and over 100K on Youtube, making them ones to watch for 2021.
