BRAND NEW TRACK ‘BOYFRIEND’ FEAT MAE MULLER!

UK trailblazer Master Peace has released his brand-new EP ‘Public Display of Affection’ accompanied with the must-see official video for ‘Boyfriend’ featuring Mae Muller, which you can watch here.
Primed for the return of buoyant live gigs, ‘Public Display of Affection’ was made last year when the pandemic resulted in the cancellation of Master Peace’s planned live shows. But rather than letting lockdown get the better of him, the multi-hyphenate artist took a pragmatic approach and made the best out of the situation, using the time to create a new body of work. Since then, a new headline tour has been announced including a gig at London’s Village Underground this September.
Speaking more on the EP, Master Peace shares:
“Public display of affection ep is a roller coaster of emotions; it really highlights my journey as a musician and my personal life a lot. It’s always been hard for me to articulate my personal life in a song before, so this EP really shows a side of me that people are not used to.”
‘Public Display Of Affection’ is striking return with drum-heavy stadium-ready songs like ‘Hold You Back’ and the standout anthem ‘Boyfriend’, which brims with loved-up angst and features London based singer-songwriter Mae Muller.
Speaking more on the exciting collaboration Mae Muller says:
“Master Peace has such amazing and powerful energy and it was such a privilege to be able to create something so special with him. Boyfriend is such a fun and playful song and I just want people to feel good when they listen to it because I know that we felt good making it.”
Directed by frequent collaborator, Sahra Zadat, the bright theatrical visuals features both Peace and Mae. Shot in Hackney, Peace decided to involve his fans by asking them to appear in the video as background actors.
When making the EP, Peace says the one question he asked himself was: “instead of trying to be like another artist, how am I going to make this me?” The new EP’s crowd-ready anthems – ‘Overdrive’, ‘PDA’ and ‘Slow Song’ showcases his versatility as an artist while boasting unforgettably bouncy choruses that are sure to have the crowds going crazy. Having been inspired to make music by his own childhood experiences, Peace enjoyed listening to grime and rap with his friends. Secretly, however, he was also loving bands like Bloc Party, No Doubt and Arctic Monkeys on his headphones at home, absorbing the sounds of indie and alt-rock into his canon. ‘Public Display of Affection’takes all these influences to mark a huge step up from last year’s ‘Love Bites’ EP.
Peace has already won fans at radio with support from Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Jamz Superova, BBC London, Apple Music with Zane Lowe and Elton John! He’s also had great support by MTV Rocks and in press by Dazed, NME,MTV, Clash, DIY (+ Class of 2021), DORK (Hype List for 2021), Notion, TLOBF, Notion, Highsnobiety, London In Stereo and many more.
With 2021 gearing up to be an even more exciting year for Master Peace, including an upcoming headline tour this September, everything seems to be aligning once again: “we’re about to turn the volume right up – and get active again!”
