PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION EP OUT 2ND JULY VIA EMI RECORDS
Genre-defying artist Master Peace has released his anthemic new single ‘Slow Song’. Gritty guitars, an instantly infectious chorus and moshpit-ready production combine on the track, which also features rising London rapper Kasien. The latest single to be released from Master Peace’s upcoming ‘Public Display Of Affection’ EP, ‘Slow Song’ is also arriving with a high-energy visual. Watch here
Peace’s frequent collaborator Zadat, who directed the music video for his track ‘Overdrive’ said: “The video is portraying young people enjoying every moment of life and expressing their true self with an underground flair.”
Sonically, ‘Slow Song’ sees Peace build on his indie-pop sound, while incorporating elements of the hip-hop and trap music that he listened to growing up. It arrives just months after his ‘Love Bites’ EP, a project that aimed to create communal moments from songs that leave a mark on pop culture.
Peace says of the video for ‘Slow Song’: “The underground needed this to happen!”
“The droptop and the highly-gassed energy in the video really portrays that in such a fun way. It’s a mix of the old and the new Master Peace sound at the same time – that’s what makes it what it is.”
‘Slow Song’ follows Peace’s crowd-ready anthem ‘PDA’, which showcased his versatility as an artist and boasting an unforgettably bouncy chorus. ‘Overdrive’ is another melodious track that Peace dropped earlier this year, capturing the vibe of youth and limitless potential.
Having been inspired to make music since childhood, Peace enjoyed listening to grime and rap with his friends.Secretly, however, he was also loving bands like Bloc Party, No Doubt and Arctic Monkeys on his headphones at home, absorbing the sounds of indie and alt-rock into his canon. It’s this confidence to follow his own path that has helped Peace win fans in such a range of tastemakers – including Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Jamz Superova, BBC London, Apple Music with Zane Lowe and Elton John! He’s also had great support by MTV Rocks and in press by by Dazed, NME, MTV, Clash, DIY (+ Class of 2021), DORK (Hype List for 2021), TLOBF, Notion, Highsnobiety, and many more.
The risk-taking artist, who melds numerous genres together, is releasing his ‘Public Display Of Affection’ EP on July 2nd via EMI records.
