Music promotions recently caught up with Doktor to chat about his new single ’The Baddest’ collaborations, studio time and much more full interview below.
What is the story behind your new single The Baddest?
I wanted to make a song where every female can feel sexy, without mentioning a type/ shape or size. a song that can make you feel sexy from within
Where did you shoot the music video for The Baddest?
This video was done in Jamaica, due to Covid 19 i was unable to shoot in London. What was it like for you to move from Jamaica to London when you was a teenager? It was a nightmare, i hated every moment of it, for at least 1 year. it was way too cold plus i left all my friends behind.
Working with artists like Tyga, Chase and Status and sigma what was that like and how did the calibrations come about?
They all called me, all wanting to collaborate. all instrumental were sent to me, so i just recorded at home and sent my vocals over.

Releasing my next single in 2 weeks its called “BoomBastic”
Will there be an album go follow this year?
The plan was to release my album this summer, but covid has halted progress.
How do you find your inspiration to write a song?
An instrumental needs to tell me a story, thats the only way i can record.
What is a typical studio day like for you?
I don’t spend more than 2 hours in the studio, i don’t like sitting around , as soon as the instrumental tells me a story the whole song is ready in my head.
After this lockdown period ends and it’s safe do you have any touring plans?
100 percent, i had so many shows lined up this year. i’m hoping next year the clubs/halls and festivals are open again.
How are you coping with lockdown?
Im coping well, i have my own studio at home, plus i’ve developed a new gardening skill.
What music are you streaming right now? What are your music recommendations?
I’ve been listening to alot of jazz lately and also old skool reggae .
